Question about Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer Spooler error 1068

My Lexmark printer X-4270 will not print. When I try restarting the spooler I get this 1068 error stating "could not start the print spooler service on Local Computer. The dependency service or group failed to start".
Has anyone encountered similar problems.

    Hi H2H

    I uninstalled the Lexmark software; however I couldn't reinstall it.

    I first tried the CD I still had and it gave me the message "Printer Spooler Stopped" For some reason it won't Re-Start.

    Then I tried using the Site you provided in your E-Mail. It seemed that it was going to install but got hung up during "Lexmark Fax Solutions Setup is performing the requested operation"

    I didn't get an error message but had to turn off the system to get out of the operation. Other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Okay, let me be sure I understand the situation:

Your computer now has no Lexmark software installed. It therefore should not have the Lexmark as one of your printers. If it still does, delete that printer - make sure that the printer is disconnected from the computer, and click Start > Printers and Faxes, or if you don't have that shortcut, Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Printers and Faxes. Select the Lexmark and press delete.

Next, I suggest you try to manually reset the spooler as follows:
1) Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
2) You should see "C:\" - if there is anything after the slash, then type cd.. and press ENTER. Repeat this until you see C:\ with nothing after it.
3) Type net stop spooler, and press ENTER (you should get a message saying the spooler has stopped).
4) Type net start spooler, and press ENTER (you should get a message saying the spooler has started).
5) Type exit [Press ENTER.]

Assuming this worked, try installing the printer normally according to the instructions (I don't recall whether your model requires the CD to be inserted before or after the printer is connected to the PC).

If this sequence of steps did not work, then there may be a problem with a system driver that supports the spooler process. There are a few different ways to approach that - let me know if you still have a problem and we'll go from there.

Hi jbaratta,

This sounds like a software problem (in other words, your printer is not the issue). Here's what I suggest:

1) Save whatever you were attempting to print, and restart the computer. Try printing it again.
2) If it doesn't work, try uninstalling the software for your printer, and then re-install it. In the event you don't have the software handy, you can download the driver from this website:

This problem is mainly happens to all inkjet printers. If your printer print blank pages then please at least once go to official site of Canon and check whether there is any printer/scanner drivers update is available or not. If yes then download it. This is codes for the ink cartridge. The code means there is a problem with the cartridge. Change them both and restart the machine.

My Epson WF-3640 is printing with gaps in the text. How do I fix this issue?


Make sure you should remove shipping tape from the ink cartridge. These taps are used to protect printer during shipping but you have to remove it before starting printing. Beacuse these taps prevent the ink to entering in print head. If you will not found shipping tape in your printer then there is terr off strip, remove it. The tear off strip seals the the vent holes on the top of the cartridge to prevent it from drying out on the shelf or during shipping.
After ensuring that the shipping tape has been removed, run the printer's "Head Cleaning" utility to prime the cartridge, then print a test page.

Prinnter not printing but showing 'put custom in manual tray'


There is still a print job in the queue. Place a sheet so it prints or kill the job.


Open Printers and Faxes. Open printer. Highlight jobs and Right click > Cancel, or Documents > Cancel.
For those stubborn jobs, Right click My Computer > Manage. Choose Services and Applications > Services > Print Spooler. Right click and stop. Then start. This may have to be done from the Print Server if it's network printer. Contact IT to kill.

Laser printer makes light clicking noise when idle


When idle is potentially the fuser unit, after heating and cooling. However the print quality issue associated with the clicking sound could indicate an electrical issue. The HVPS maybe faulty causing the print quality issue (due to dependant parts) and the electrical click. In any case I would recommend calling Brother and finding the nearest authorised service agent.

The problem your having is a spacer motor. It's located under the carriage that holds the ribbon/printhead. The part number is 56513701. Available at Seattle Platen - Dale 1800-221-2388.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .

Samsung kicked out hp 3in 1 printer already installed


Don't have your HP designated as the default printer (if possible)when you hook up the Samsung. When the Samsung is hooked up it sees the HP is the default printer. Well it can't have that, they discard the HP drivers. What does Samsung care about HP drivers theres only one printer port setup and thats the USB port you have them sharing. So yes you need to get a second cable. Tim
