Question about Whirlpool LSR5132PQ Top Load Washer

Washer does not work when it reaches at rinse

Hi, I have Whirlpool washer and dryer model year 2001. The motor works fine when washing, but stops, when it reaches at rinse level. It has 4 settings (Normal load, Heavy load, hand wash, timed wash), and I tried at each setting, but it does not work.

Can you please advise whats the problem, and can I fix that by myself.

Thanks

SK

I have the same problem. When it stops I have to push on the lid and put a heavy weight on top to get it to start again. I have to do this 3 times every time a wash. I know it has something to do with the lid not catching but have no idea as to what part to get or what it looks like. Can somebody please help?

Yes, Daddy1264 is right. We called for the service, and the technician replaced the lid switch, which was broken.

    Thanks

The part your looking for is called a lid switch, however you have to take the case off of the washer to replace it

SM 8525492A whirlpool washer rinse cycle no water comes out, just hums

when the washer goes into rinse cycle it only uses cold water so clothes don't rinkle,so most likey you have a problem with your cold water,do this, shut down the water to the washer, remove the water lines from the back of washer and mark them so you know how they came off, stick the hoses into the washer if they reach or a bucket, turn on the cold water to see if water is coming out of hose,if water does come out of hose good then stick the cold water hose back on the washer and run it only on cold,if it doesn't fill then you know you have a problem with the water valve on the washer and it's not the house water valve that's bad,and usually if you have a problem with the washer water valve it will just hum and no water will enter the washer so if you hear a humming sound it will be the water valve.tried looking up the model number you sent but it doesn't come up on the parts lookup

Washer temp setting changes by itself

I also have a Whirlpool washer/dryer for my condo, although I don't know the model number of mine. I had the same problem -- after it was precisely a year old, suddenly one day the hot and cold started coming out reversed. I was able to fix mine by more or less temporarily fiddling with the water pressure. What I did was one time, when the rinse cycle was running and the washer was filling up with hot water (grrrr...), I completely shut off the valve supplying hot water. So at that point the water stopped filling into the washer, and then I started tinkering with the cold water, twisting the valve off and on a few times. Then BINGO, suddenly the cold water "kicked in" and for the remainder of the rinse cycle, it filled the washer with cold water. I then turned the hot water valve back on, and since then it has been running correctly.

My Whirpool Estate washer will not rinse spin or drain

The motor turns in one direction to wash and the other to spin. If it will not spin I feel sure it's a bad motor.

Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.
