If its a standard analog tv made before the digital changeover it will no longer work directly connected to an antenna as there are no more analog tv transmissions,to use it you will have to get a digital to analog converter box to connect between the tv & antenna it will convert the incoming digital signal to analog so the tv can work again, the same goes fore vcr's they will no longer record directly from an antenna. Some cable systems still supply the cable signal in analog older tv's will still work without boxes on these systems.
This tv is a Analoge tv.Only can be able to used with CABLE,SATALITES or some other pay tv services to able to get a picture. Can't used the alone trying to recieving the DTV free AIR signal, will not work.Only way to get free AIR DTV to work for this tv is.This tv must have a Digital Coverter box hook up.The free AIR broadcasting signal must go through the tv Digital Converter box to be able to watch Free AIR DTV channels broadcasting.
Okay, does this tv have a built in DIGITAL tuner? Most tv's only have an analog tuner. You can tell the difference while you are changing the channels. If the channel indicates 2.1 or 2.2 and so forth, it is on a digital channel mode. If you change the channel and it indicated 2, 3, 4, etc. it is analog. If it has digital capability change the input until you see 2.1, 3.4 etc. If you cycle through all the inputs on the tv like, input 1 (TV) input 2(DVD) input 3(HDMI) and so forth and you never see the digital channel you most likely do not have a digital tuner. You will need to purchase a digital converter which will convert it to analog and you can watch it by placing you tv on analog channel 3 just like the old vcr's. Hope this helps and please don't forget to rate this solution.

Ur tv is analog tv u know that right?U have pay cable or other pay tv services hook up to ur tv?All CRT are analog tvs and no longer able to recieve free air tv signal reception without the converter box.It all digital now, analog,CRT tvs to get DTV must have a converter box.
If the set you are trying to convert to HD is just your everyday standard VHF/UHF analogue TV - basically forget it! I am given to understand you cannot make your standard telly show HD pictures.
Sorry! That is, of course, anyone else knows different.
you will need to hook your signal to the converter box then into your vcr and then into your TV. Now if your vcr has signal out then you will not have any problems hooking your tv up to the vcr. You may have to use the audio out to get the right sound with your tv.
no you can use your regular VCR. You will just have to make sure you put your coverter box to bring the signal into your vcr. You can also bring the signal into your TV from the vcr so that you don't have to have 2 converter boxes.
First of all I don't believe that this is an HD set. The coupon is for a converter that will allow an analog TV to receive digital broadcasted signals over the air. If this TV is connected to either cable or satelite, the converter box is not needed.
