Question about Hitachi CPS317LAMP Projector Lamp for CP-S317W, CP-S318W, ED-S3170A
When my projection went blue and the temp and blub lights started blinking, I replaced my lamp (Hitatchi ED-S3170A), I installed the blub and the screen now starts out light blue at the top and blends to a pink at the bottom. The light is very dim. The Temp and Blub lights are still blinking. Do I have to reset my projector? If, so - how? Maybe the replacement blub is bad? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Refer to owners manual ! Blinking indicates the type of fault that is occuring on all your tv sets. example : power light on red - indicator light beside it green but blinks rapidly for half a second rapidly then shuts off. This refers to a faulty lamp or a lamp that is near its expiration. Read your manuals if indicators refer to easy repair sweet, but if it says call tech then bummer...

SOURCE: Red power, blinking red temp
if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.

This is what your projector's user manual says about a flashing "TEMP" light :
"The cooling fan is not operating. Turn the power OFF and wait approximately 20 minutes. After the main unit has cooled down, please make confirmation that no foreign matter has become caught in the fan, etc. After performing any needed maintenance, turn the power ON again; if the same display is displayed, then please contact a sales store or a service company."

SOURCE: Resetting the air filter timer
If you do not have a remote here is how to reset the filter time. Use the "Menu" bottun to get the "easy menu" to display. Push the down arrow until you get to "Filter Time," then push and hold the RIGHT arrow to reset the filter time. DO NOT try to reset using the "Reset" option on the easy menu, it will not work.
