Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

Gamer profiles corrupted

I recently sent my xbox in to be repaired. (mind you it is only 3 months old) When it came back there was a letter attached saying that my unit was unrepairable so they replaced my unit. The problem is that now my gamer profiles are both corrupted. I've never sonnected to xbox live so I cannot recover my gamertags that way.... Does anyone know how to fix this problem???

no, I did not send the hard drive in as directed by microsoft.....

I'm not sure about a memory card.... Is there one besides the hard drive???

  • seaneparnell Dec 17, 2008

Thanks, that's what they told me at microsoft, but I'm always an optimist and thought someone else may have had this problem and maybe figured out how to fix it....

They did say something about extracting the profiles to another memory (flash drive???) but I didn't catch the rest

    thanks again

This isnt really a solution but if its become corupt and you dont have XBL
im afaid that there is no way to get it back Sorry

you can only recover accounts if they are XBL ones and thats because they save your information on there servers

i hope this helps

Your problem is a corrupted hard drive. Your only option really is to buy a new hard drive. If your gamer profiles are on Xbox Live, you will be able to recover them to your new Hard Drive.

Cannot watch movies in divx format when am offline...

The problem you are facing is due to a corrupt profile, do not delete your current profile, just create a new gamer tag profile on the same xbox 360 and download the media update from Xbox Live, you would be able to play DivX movies again offline.

Before you create the new gamer tag, delete the old instance of media update downloaded earlier to play DivX movies

I faced similar problem, it got resolved after creating a new gamer tag.

My Xbox 360 gamer profile has been corrupted. I don't have live, is there a way to fix it?

Coruption is what it is can you fix it? Well if you a data recovery expert sure but if your not the no. corupted files happen when the unit is shut down without a proper shut down protocal or when a hard drive is at it end of life. You can recover the profile but un-corupt it is not even a word I had to make that one up so you can understand it would take many many hours to do. Corrupt profile

Just delete your old profile and recover your gamer tag. your Gamerscore and Achievements are stored on the Xbox Live Servers so you won't lose those. but you might have problems with your saved games

Corrupted profile on XBox 360

I have heared that if you just delete the profile, just the profile, everything will be just fine (note: This only works if your profile is on xbox live).
Just go to memor, then go into the saving device the corrupted profile is on. Then "click" on the botton that says profile and delete the corrupted profile. Remember; the profile will be a small save and not taking up most of your harddrive, look for something with MB size, not GB size. When you have done this, go to "recover gamertag" and do so for the profile you just deleted. After all this, your game saves and achivements should be present and working.
