The fuse probably blew due to a blockage of some sort. Check your ventpipe. It may be full of lint. The fuse is a small white part held onto the blower housing with 1 screw. It usually can be found under the dust cover on the rear of the dryer.Kenmore 70 Series Dryer - 84a81ce.jpg It has 2 small wires hooked to it and it is wired in series with the door switch. When the lint gets built up and dryer over heats and fuse blows. The result is just as if you opened the door.1d45fbe.jpg

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer heater stays on even with door switch and motor both unplugged. What could be wrong with it?

It is a guess, but my guess is that the timer knob is faulty as it makes everything happen when it should. With strange issues like that, it is better to call in the professionals as parts are expensive to replace on guesses.

Kenmore Dryer 70 series electric-quit heating and timer wont shut

This link will help you in diagnosis/disassembly/parts.

Possibly a faulty heat element is most common failure. Fix the no heat problem and the dryer should shut off ok.
Make sure you have correct voltage to the unit before tearing apart. Again visit the link above

I have a kenmore 70 series electric dryer. The motor won't start, I can hear the timer ticking.

There is a circuit board that is in the control panel. It is mounted into a plastic carrier that is skrewed into the panel. You could pull it straight out and check it with a multimeter to see if there is continuty, check the two blue resisters and if no continuty, replace!

Kenmore 70 series dryer control/timer knob doesn't turn when running

THE TIMER HAS A SMALL DRIVE MOTOR THAT TURNS THE TIMER AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS FOR DIFFERENT CYCLES AND VARIES FROM BRAND TO BRAND BUT EITHER WAY YOU MUST REPLACE THE TIMER , EXPENSIVE FIX IF THE DRYER IS WORTH IT THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM
