Question about A D S ADS USB Instant DVD 2.0 (USBAV-702) Video Capture, Standard For DVD Video (201016001)

Open Question

Status light on device doesn't come on. Used to before we moved, and when connected to a computer using XP. Now using Vista. Input coming from TiVo Series2 composite output. Coax output from TiVo to TV is good, so I know output is there. Am trying to record cooking programs for wife; TiVo hard drive is full. Installation of ADS software went without error messages. Did box go bad in shipping? None of my other hardware did, so don't think so, but nothing else I can think of.

SOURCE: Ineed the voltage and connector polarity for the ADS TV ELite Pro

I just found one too, same situation... no power supply. Mine has box and all. On the back of the box, it reads:
Power Supply 7.5 VDC power adapter

It doesn't say what polarity, but judging from the board... I'm gonna' say + in the center. That's what I'm gonna do.

The status light just blinks and tv doesn't come on

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

My hub cant find drivers

It's a USB hub, it doesn't require any special drivers. Just plug it into the computer and plug in devices. Be aware hubs have very limited suppliable power so if you plug in a lot of devices that use a lot of power and have no power supply of their own you will overload the hub and it will stop functioning.
If the computer is having problems identifying the hub. Go into Device manager and locate any yellow ? or ! devices right click the device, properties and post the status codes.
Device Manger Windows XP Right Click My Computer, Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager
Windows Vista/7 Right Click Computer, Properties, Device Manager

TiVo installation

Since the Series2 doesn't do HD, you don't need any fancy connections, and it's pretty simple to hook up.

1) Disconnect the cable that's connecting your cable box to your TV, from the TV end.
2) Connect the end that *was* connected to your TV, to the "input" on the Tivo.
3) Get another piece of the same cable (coaxial cable), and connect the output of the Tivo to the input on your TV.

That's it.

You may just need to go to Best Buy and get a piece of coaxial cable to connect the Tivo to the TV.

If you need further help, let me know.

Microphone(MIC)Of head set not working(got removed wrongly)

This usually just gets reinstalled whenever you restart your computer be it Vista or XP. In your case, the drivers for the Microphone probably got deleted. The Microphone driver comes in the package together with the sound card. You'll have to re-install the whole sound card driver to have it start working again. You can do this from the Device Manager. After doing this, the microphone together with the whole sound card drivers should start working again.

Hoopers statement is generally correct, but INCOMPLETE in this case. It cannot be used as a router, because this device has no input for the network connection from your cable modem or other broadband device. HOWEVER, this device is also a wireless bridge. That is, you can use it as a router to connect multiple computers in your SOHO network (but not to the broadband device) and you can use it to wirelessly route a remotely located computer or device, such as a PS3, a TIVO box, etc. that cannot be provided with a wireless network adaptor, to a wireless router that is connnected to your broadband device.

The green light on the left indicates that the Tivo *is* on and running.

Have you changed your TV to the correct input that the Tivo is connected to?

TIVO DVR : Won't Change Channels

Set up your infrared blasters connected from your IR port on the Tivo and by placing the two lead lights in front of your cable box so it (the cable box) can read the signal.  Then go to Channel settings accessed through Tivo Central and follow the questions. It will ask you to change channels until the remote is working correctly.  This all worked on a different "input" on my Mitsubishi TV (it has multiple inputs.  I have the cable input on a different "input" to make it work.  Hope this helps.  Call TIVO tech assistance because they are the ones who talked me through this.
