Question about Acer Aspire 1360 Notebook

Open Question

Wont rcover past 40 %

Hi My computer came up with a mesage telling that my computer needed to re boot because Bit Torrent had crashed.
I had down loaded some movies some of which I was able to tend to my flash drive.
Bit Torrent saved the movies on My hard drive C/ Documents/downloads
I did try to delete the files and each time that I went to try to deleat the Download folder or contents A WINDOWS EXPLORER message comes up . I have spent some time trying to deleat the files . Each time the same thing happens advised of errors. That is one part of the problem .
I then decided to try to format the drive . I then tried to place the recovery in the cd drive Each time it loads it sits on 40% of copying files in the recovery mode.
Is this due to a fault on the hard drive . do you think .
Any Help Tony Cumming

I forgot the password of my lap top and ive tryed safemode but i need the pass word for that too what i would like to do in is do a system reset but im not sure how and i cant find the right key to push

Hi,
There is only 2 solution to reset your password.

a. Reinstall the OS
b. Crack your Password

cracking your password is the better choice. for that you have to install Bit Torrent. It is download manager. Pls follow the below link to install Bit Torrent

http://www.bittorrent.com/downloads/complete?os=win

After installing plz follow below link to download HIRENS BOOT CD (.iso)

http://www.monova.org/torrent/1173423/Hirens.BootCD.9.1.iso.html

After downloading this software pls copy to a disk. Make sure that it must be bootable (.iso). After all insert the CD in your laptop drive and boot your CD drive as first bootable device. In that you can see Password cracker. You can follow it very easily...

It is a very helpful software. You can check everything with that tool...

thank you

HI senior citizen with limited computer skills, Have blue screen telling me I have been closed down because unmountable boot volume to prevent damage to pc but I am unable to carry out the instructions...

Possible causes:
1.The file system is damaged and cannot be mounted.
2.You use a standard 40-wire connector cable to connect the UDMA drive to the controller instead of the required 80-wire, 40-pin cable.
3.The basic input/output system (BIOS) settings are configured to force the faster UDMA modes.

Solutions:
If it be the connector cable problem then replace the 40-wire cable with an 80-wire UDMA cable.
If it's a BIOS settings problem then load the 'Fail-Safe' default settings, and then reactivate the most frequently used options such as USB Support.

If it's a damaged file system case then:-
1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

5.At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.

6.At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.

This takes a bit longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.

Can u tell me how to install windows xp in Compaq Presario CQ42 173TU?

First of all you need a Boot-able disk with windows xp operation system on it ..If you do not have one you can download a great XP sp2 professional from here ..using a U torrent downloaded for torrent files...and after that burn the image file you download on a disk using NERO..and just inserting the disk into the writer and doable click on the file..
But remember you need to have Nero installed so that the ISO file to be associated with the burning program (Nero) and open the image file with it automatically ..In this way you will be sure to end up with a boot-able disk ..
for that you need these:
the u torent program for download..
http://www.utorrent.com/
the Nero program ...(I prefer Nero 7 instead newer ones ..cause it sees the Image files and associate itself on them ..thing that newer ones do not do ..)
http://www.mediafire.com/?yznzmdonjgm
and of course the torrent file where to get the windows..
REMEMBER : on the folder there is a key for the product ...wrote it down somewhere cause you will need it during the process)
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5388204/Windows_Xp_Genuine
Do not let yourself fooled by the big download button ...its just a spam ...click on the download this torrent for to open the download..and will ask you to associate the opening of the file and choose the u torrent ...it will ask to confirm and start the download ..after that you will find the download director in My documents/downloads...

If you followed my instructions ...and downloaded all ..and burned using Nero 7 but automatically by dowble clicking the file ...you ended up with a Boot-able cd with windows 7 on it ..that it is recognized like genuine and updates itself to the end of glory ...
the next thing you have to do is ..either go to BIOS setting (in your case by pressing F10 on start cause it is a HP device...and in there look for BOOT manager and change the BOOT order to boot from cd first ...and save with F10 and confirm with enter ..
or ,,just insert the disk ...and press F12 to display the boot menu ..and choose with the up /down arrows ...to boot from cd ..and .remember ..to get into the boot menu you have to press that key a second after the start of the computer ..or even press it repeatedly so to not miss..
after the boot from cd starts..you will be asked to [press any key to boot from cd ...press a key ..anyone ..and the dance begins..
Follow the instructions on the bottom of the screen and to guide you further ..I link you to a page with explaining step by step of how to do it ...
You can even print them after download or copy ...to have in case...you stumble on something you are not sure ...
Remember ..there is nothing you can do wrong top the computer ..so be bold and trust your logic..cause you can always repeat from the start again and again until you will do it right ...the only thing you can loose are the data on the computer ..in case you have some ..personal ones....I suggest to store them before start on some other computer or ..on a memory stick or disks..
Here is the other instructions link ...but from the point I brought you it s just common sense....the only issue will be after the first restart ..and at the end

I have a friend's Presario C700 Vista laptop that has failed for the 2nd time. I found a vista recovery at Bit Torrent that worked the first time and helped the computer perform a checkdisk to find missing...

Guess she didn't buy it new because in Canada the boot disks must be provided provided with the purchase of a new computer. If she bought it new and didn't get one, tell her to get it from the dealer free of charge. (I assume those laws are the same elsewhere).

Has she got the instructions for the computer at least? A lot of laptops have an emergency recovery process built in so the computer can often be recovered by hitting one of the higher function keys like F10 or whatever.

If you're using programs like Bit Torrent, you may need the real disks quite often because you are accessing good hotbeds for viruses.

If she bought it second hand, she should do whatever she can to get it from the person who sold it to her, although that person wouldn't be under the same obligation to give it to her as a store would be. Likely the person no longer has a need for it anyway.

It's not a good idea to buy any computer from anyone without asking if the boot disks will be supplied and if they have a receipt showing the legitimate proof of purchase. Often what seems like a good deal can be a bad one in the end if things those questions aren't asked first.

Could not rcover the factory intallation system

are you using the recovery cd that came with the package or a program installed on your pc to restore it to factory default? try the recovery cd, and if it still wont boot to that, it might be that the cd is defective. try booting to a known good OS cd.

i assume that you have windows xp. you may want to use an xp startup disk and then boot your computer from that disk and run system recovery console it is step by step and very simple there you can run command promp and when you get there you can change the master boot record and boot files to help you to actually be able to start the commands are as follows....
  • C: CD ..
  • C: ATTRIB -H C:\\boot.ini
  • C:ATTRIB -S C:\\boot.ini
  • C:ATRIB -R C:\\boot.ini
  • C: del boot.ini
  • C: BOOTCFG /Rebuild
  • C: CHKDSK /R /F
  • C: FIXBOOT
follow through with these and our good to go!

Hi grade laptop boot problem

crashing a few times in order to boot can be caused by corrupted boot files that Windows required.
Try do a "scan for bad sectors" checkdisk (Right click C: in My Computer, click Properties. Click Tools tab and then Check Now button, tick both option boxes and it should ask to reboot for the bad sector check. 8c484d1.jpg
You can also use HDD Regenerator to fix corrupted files. Read my other posts for details.

Blue screen of death

Hi there
"Unmountable Boot Volume." means that the system 32 folder has become corrupt and probably you will have to recover the system.
If you have XP CD for a clean install, you have to change the boot order from within the bios (F2 on boot up) and tell it to boot from CD.
This will change the boot order and allow you to reinstall the OS.
Be warned that you WILL loose data if this is the only option open to you.

Good luck

Acer 5050 crash problem.

It is highly unlikely its a crash......two operating systems cannot....CANNOT crash similtaneously. Its impossible! unless the hard drive you run both on is faulty BUT you wouldnt get Windows to load. Not even for a bit....you say all lights will stay if they were lit up but they some how dont stay on.........I think thats what you mean.........then you say you checked again and there were rectangles that look like a book that stopped blinking yet the power lite stayed on....Im at a lost But I dont think its a crash......only software crash it might be a hardware pronlem....
