Your card reader probably cant read HC cards. Any of the newer cards 4GB and above is considered HC: High Capacity and only the newer card readers can read that. Same thing goes with older cameras. 2GB would be the max for older cameras that dont support HC and card readers that dont support it.

Ensure the 4GB card is functioning and readable in another device. If the 4GB card is known to be good, check for a driver or firmware update for your PC and/or the card reading device.

My Pentax N73 digital camera will not accept 4gb sd cards, what card should I be using

If I'm reading the specs right then the N73 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card and will only work in devices specifically designed to work with SDHC cards. You'll need to use SD cards, 2GB or smaller.

Sd card not being read. I have tried two different 4gb SD cards. These cards have the smaller mico chip inside the SD card. I also tried to format the card with the camera but not able to do this...

The DC-1020 works with SD cards up to 2GB in size, not SDHC cards 4GB and larger. The same limitations apply to microSD and microSDHC cards used with adapters. The adapter will make a microSDHC card appear as an SDHC card to the camera.

You need to use SD or microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Why is my memory card not showing on my computer

There may be a conflict with your drive letters.

Here's a simple step:

1.) Right Click on "My Computer"
2.) Click on "Manage"
3.) Click on the "Disk Management"
4.) Check the Disk if there's a drive that do not appear on top of your right panel.
5.) Right Click on that drive and click on "Change Drive letters and Paths"
6.) Click the "Change" button on the window that appears then change the letter to whatever you like. Make sure no other drive is the same.

I have 2 different sd cards 4gb that the card won't format or read because it won't format it.

The DX7630 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB cards are actually SDHC cards, not SD cards. While they will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

It sounds as if you have an SD card reader, not an SDHC card reader. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. SD devices are limited to cards 2GB and smaller. SDHC cards begin at 4GB and go up to 32GB.

Sd Card reader not recognising SDHC cards

When You Insert your SD card into the internal card reader, then the SD card is not recognised by the system and the SD card drive doesn't show there. The problem can be because of driver issue, system issue and device issue.
To fix the problem you need to go at device manager if there is a yelllow sign in SD card controller, the problem is most probably caused by a driver issue. Then you need to update the driver. You can also download the driver for your card reader.
Also, check if your SD Card is broken. You can also check it into different devices port.
If it is detected then you can backup of your data.

If the problem not resolved by any means and you require you SD Card data then I will suggest you read - https://www.stellarinfo.co.in/services/removable-media-recovery.php

Micro sd 4gb card problems.

Check the Sansa tutorials at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1468
to make sure you have followed all the steps first.

In my experience, every mp3 player/photo frame/etc with a card reader has a MAXIMUM memory limit for the type of card that it can read. It is possible that the Sansa player can only read 2GB Micro SD cards or smaller - and thisi nformation may not have been available when they printed the manual. If you have followed all instructions, and it still will not read the card, try switching to a 2GB Micro SD card.
