How do I fix DC peak (IPM fault) On lg ductless inverter outside unit

This fault is caused by an over current in the inverters DC power circuit. If the DC part of the circuit exceeds 14 Amps fault code 21 will be displayed. This is caused by either the inverter PCB being faulty or compressor being short circuit or grounded. Disconnect the electrical connections to the compressor and check the resistance of the compressor windings, measure from U to V, V to W and W to U the values should be between 0.25 and 5 Ohms each.
The next test is to measure the resistance of the compressor windings to earth. Using a Megger (High Voltage Meter) measure the resistance from any of the 3 compressor terminals to an Earth point (pipe work). The value should exceed 2 M Ohms.
If the compressors fail these tests it will need replacing. If the compressor is OK... CHANGE THE PCB

Riso HC5500 S01-204 error

  • Code: 001 S96
  • Description:Power supply remote signal not connected The control signal cable for the ON/OFF control of the 24/38-VDC output is disconnected. The signal wire grounded inside the power supply unit has been pulled up by the IP PCB to detect the level.
  • Code: 003 S97
  • Description:38-VDC power supply voltage error A voltage drop is detected when a voltage drop is sensed by the IP PCB based on the signal resulting from dividing the 38-VDC resistance inside the power supply unit. The detection level is approximately 18 VDC. Voltage polling is conducted at 100-ms intervals by the IP-CPU. An error is detected when a voltage drop is sensed 10 times in succession (approx. 1 sec). No detection is performed when the interlock SW is open.
  • Code: 004 S97
  • Description:24-VDC power supply voltage error A voltage drop is detected when a voltage drop is sensed by the IP PCB based on the signal resulting from dividing the 24-VDC resistance inside the power supply unit. The detection level is approximately 11 VDC. Voltage polling is conducted at 100-ms intervals by the IP-CPU. An error is detected when a voltage drop is sensed 10 times in succession (approx. 1 sec). No detection is performed when the interlock SW is open.
  • Code: 006 S97
  • Description:3.3-VDC power supply voltage error A voltage drop is detected when a voltage drop is sensed in the 3.3-VDC power supply on the MIP side of the IP PCB. Voltage polling is conducted at 100-ms intervals by the IP-CPU. An error is detected when a voltage drop is sensed 10 times in succession (approx. 1 sec).

  • Code: 007 S97
  • Description:1.8-VDC power supply voltage error A voltage drop is detected when a voltage drop is sensed in the 1.8-VDC power supply on the MIP side of the IP PCB. Voltage polling is conducted at 100-ms intervals by the IP-CPU. An error is detected when a voltage drop is sensed 10 times in succession (approx. 1 sec).
  • Code: 008 S96
  • Description:Control panel not connected The absence of the control panel unit to be connected to the MC PCB is detected. Since this configuration lacks this panel, this error indication will not be issued under normal operating circumstances.
  • Code: 009 S96
  • Description:Print counter not connected The absence of a print counter is detected.
  • Code: 011 S96
  • Description:CIS PCB not connected The connection of the CIS PCB cannot be confirmed.

The sound is distorted and overwhelmed by static

Depends what the real problem is.

Is it related to certain sources only - try new or reseated cables, swap it to a different input; single channel - swap to isolate; or certain controls that have become noisy? A shop might be able to get some tuner cleaner into them.

Looking for a new Panasonic SA-XR25 6.1 Channels

A quick search only revealed on online retailer that still had one in stock:
http://abcdealz.stores.yahoo.net/pansarx25.html

I strongly suggest calling them to verify that the unit is in stock prior to placing the order online.

Alternatively, set up a saved-search on ebay to alert you if one is posted, or post to "Want it now". (http://pages.ebay.com/wantitnow/index.html)

I suspect the unit is still under warranty. Call Panasonic to verify:

Resister burnt

Guest and Lesfix. RU83 located on the DRC8335 VCR PCB is a 51ohm 1/4 watt 5% tolerence resistor, color coded green-brown-black-gold. As to zener diode DU83, I haven't been able to determine it's value yet but am working on the problem.

Be aware when either or both these components fry, this indicates you need to replace the following two overheating capacitors on the power-supply board, which were directly resonsibile for knocking them out:

• C216 1000µf 16 volt (upgrade to 35 volts)
• C218 1000µf 10 volt (upgrade to 35 volts)

Could you email me regarding this problem when you have time. Mention Fixya and DU83 in the subject line so I realize it's from you. Thanks. mikeadams110@yahoo.com

Receiver has lost audio

There are four surface mounted caps, 22uf/10v under the surround processor PCB on the main PCB.
Just replace them all.
That took care of my static problem.
