If the beep is a long beep check your ram(memory) either clean it with eraser with pcb cleaner if this also is not working then change your ram ( memory)

if it is short beep then check your display card if u have it

if not then there is problem with *********** board

Consistant beeping. "error code:ERR stuck shorted keys" how can I fix this??

Unplug your keyboard and see if that particular alarm goes away. If it does then you need to have your keyboard cleaned or replaced.

Gateway GT5082 Media Center Computer - Froze. When I turn it on, I get a blank screen and a single, consistent beeping. Once I was able to F8 to restart, but then it happened again and it won't come...

That is a ram problem. Take em out and reseat them, and then one at a time, if more than one.

until something works. then is nothing works, get new ram.

My tower turns on and makes this consistent beeping sound. And nothing shows on the screen.

I believe from my own past that the beeping sound is an over-heating alarm, and that you need to get more fans installed inside. Try taking off the door to your tower, and point a fan in on it and turn off the computer, wait about 5 minutes with the fan set to high to see if that solves your problem. If it doesn't then I suggest you take it in to the shop or wait for some more possible answers on here.

Hope this helps!

Worked fine last night, discovered it this morning still turned on but no signal to monitor. Rebooted and it began a consistent beeping with no signal to monitor. Unplugged several times to no avail....

the beeping is coming from the cpu.

1 unplug pc
2 pull out ram chips
3 use an eraser to clean the gold, yes thats gold

what happens is the gold on the ram oxidizes and does not connect properly and can go bad but cleaning it with an eraser sometimes works. take a cpu that is working unplu it pull the ram and you will see the same thing your other pc is doing.

4 reinstall ram (correctly)
5 boot up cpu
6 please vote.

Computer won't turn on - consistent beeping, what could be wrong?

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.
make sure that your RAM is securely seated
try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps
