The computer is connected through a network. I can not print from anywhere on the computer. Pressing print freezes the computer or five minutes later the print box will appear but then freeze. The network shows that all is working well and that the printer is being recognized. Any help?

    Thanks

No, the computer that is hardwired prints just fine. The one that is wireless on the network freezes each time I hit the file-print anywhere on the Internet. It also freezes in Microsoft Word.

I finally had to break down and pay Dell for their software help and it turned out that the wired to the printer computer had a different IP address then the wireless computer that was trying to access the printer. It took him ten minutes to fix the problem and a $129.00. Oh well, chalk it up to another lesson learned.

Thanks for all of your help.

    Is this a wireless printer?

How is the printer setup to the network?
and how are you mapped to it?

Do you get the same results if printing from a different computer?
The issue might not be the printer but the pc you are printing from.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver?

    do you get any errors?
Have you tried pinging the IP of the printer to verify you can 'see' it?

seems like the laptop is little short of memories.

    go to control panel>> system.

under the general tab, you should see the amount of memories you have. (please post it here).

    go to start>>programs>>accessories>>system cleaner.

use the cleaner to clean up the hard drive, so you have nough space.

if you have mini. of 20% of free space on the hard drive, then you should be able to print.

Hi,
There are a couple of steps to be performed to verfiy whether your laptop is handshaking with the newtwork printer. First assign the printer with a Static IP address. This information is provided in the administartor guide of the printer. This setting can usually be found in the network settings of the printer.
Please set the subnet mask, and the default gateway. This info is found in your PC. Click start, Run, type in CMD, and new black window will pop up, type ipconfig/all press enter, this will show all the network information you will need for this. This was the printer communicating with your PC from the printer. Now the other way round.First delete the old driver of the printer and reinstall the driver. Most manufactures provide an automated click next type of install software. You can search their website for the the drivers. After reinstalling now try to print.

Change the USB cable. The cable you are using isn't sending data BACK to the computer that tells the computer that the printer is ready, and you have to reset, Change the USB cable for a NEW one, and then your computer will talk to your printer and vice-versa.

Laser jet 2430tn printing slow

Check the way your print Jobs Spool up in your PC. you may have a totally different set up for printing in your new computer that takes two or three extra steps(such as spooling the print job) prior to actually sending it to the printer to be printed. If you have a user manual for your new computer, check the printer set up and see if it is set up to print directly to printer or print to spooling folder then to printer. Also try a different driver if you wish, I know the 2430 can use either PCL5 or PCL6 drivers... I'd start there and see if there is a difference.... the problem isn't your printer obviously its the way your computer is communicating to it. Best of luck to you.

Printer will not print, I have downloaded the driver for this modle

Try to print on a self test, all printers can print without using the computer please check your manual on how to self test the printer without using the computer.
If your using a cable plugged in directly to the computer use another port then test to print. If still same you might have print in queue on your computer you have to restart the spooler on your computer so you can print.
You can check on this website so you have an idea.

HP LaserJet 3550 spits out blank paper when job sent from computer but prints fine when printing directly from printer

Try connecting the printer via the USB port on either one of the computers. Then test if the machine prints fine then likely possibility is that the Network interface card is faulty remove the network card and install in a different slot and test. If the same thing happens then reinstall the drivers and test.

Hope this helps
Thanks J

Every printer has a unique print driver on computer, and each and every printer uses a different one, so there goes it cant be my computer. The way to tell if it is a printer or computer problem on your machine is to Turn off, unplug from computer, ensure your printer has paper, power it on, wait for ready/online lamp, then press the "go" button 5 times super FAST. Status page should print if it does, then your problem is in fact the computer or the print driver not installed correctly on your computer, as I suspect may be the case.

Post back once you have verified if you have a printer or a computer problem.
