In Windows go to control panel then network and internet, and you should see under internet options "change your homepage". Click that. You should see a box to put the Yahoo address in. Either type in the address in or go to the Yahoo home page and copy the URL on the top left of the screen.
Certain types of software downloaded from the internet sometimes will change the home page. So if you are downloading software and the like, always pick the advanced option, then check that it doesn't want to change your browser or home page. This happens a lot with the free software, to make them free they have these "extras" added.
You can set yahoo.com as your home page in your browser by setting it as the default in your browser settings:
For instance, if you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, start up (launch) your IE browser, Click on the "Tools" tab on the far right (top) corner of the page - to see a drop-down window; select/click on "Internet Options" to open up a window. At the top box (General tab) ... you can enter the URL address of the home page ... i.e. www.yahoo.com Then, click Apply ... and OK
From then on, whenever you start up (launch) your IE browser, it will display the www.yahoo.com page.
This can also be done for other (common) browsers, like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc. If you are using one of these other browsers and would like specific step-by-step instructions, simply indicate so in your follow-up comments.

I assume you use a PC and the Internet Explorer browser.
Go to the Internet Explorer Tools menu, select Internet Options, click on General tab, look for "Home Page". Here there is an address box where you can type in the home base that you want. For example if you want Yahoo, you put in http://www.yahoo.com/
save and close and it's done. so simple. :)
You could try to go through the Tools tab and select Internet Options. When the box appears it will show you your home page address. Delete whatever address is there and change that to www.yahoo.com and reset computer. This should get yahoo back online and accessable to you.
