Question about Epson Stylus CX5400 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I don't know if this will work for you but I had that same error message. All I had to do was lift up the top so I could see the scanner bed and on the left where you see the "locked unlocked" pictures, Move it to the UNLOCKED position (don't ask me why, it makes no sense...) and it worked perfectly again. I spent 4+ hours trying to fix my printer last night, then my boyfriend walked in, moved it to unlocked and it was good as new. It made me pretty mad... but happy I didn't have to buy a new printer! Give it a try =)

I have exactly the same problem. It started about a week after a "paper jam" which I though I'd cleared. I've researched and also called Epson and the local Service Center [incidentally, it would cost more to diagnose and perhaps fix than to replace]. No one has told me how to clear the error message. There might be some ink soaked paper bits inside... or numerous other possibilities... I'm afraid I'll have to buy a new printer [and based on recent reading will probably switch to Canon]. I'll post if I learn anything else.
