How can I get rid of a pop up on my desktop?

You might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
http://majorgeeks.com/Avira_AntiVir_Personal_-_FREE_Antivirus_d955.html
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira...

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs.

Cannot open because the PX.dll cannot be found in my computer. where can i find that program?

PX.dll is a file installed by your CD burning or cd media software by Sonic Solutions. Sonic Solutions was bought out by Rovi who also handles Roxio.

Look in your CD collection for a disk with Sonic on it. If you do not have this, you may have to contact Rovi or Roxio for product support.

SONIC UPDATE MANAGER & ALOT

It seems that the Sonic update manager is updating automatically or popping up while booting the computer.

This may be caused by removing certain non-Sonic/Roxio applications that share file resources with our Sonic/Roxio software. To resolve, it is required to replace these files with a fix utility.

It is not required to reinstall this application entirely.

It is just required to run this fix utility and reboot the computer.

Note: close all applications regarding Sonic and Roxio before installing.

In Roxio Creator 2010 slideshow won't open..complaining " Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted". Reinstaling does not help

Hi.

Check that the date on your computer is correct. Certificates are checked on an online microsoft database. If your computer has date Jan.2001, you get the certificate error.

If that was not the problem, then try the following:

Go to Control pane, switch it to classic view.
Open Control Panel ->Appearance and Personalization->Folder Options->View , then click on "Show Hidden files and folders" and Apply or OK
Go to : c:\Program Data
Delete folder called Roxio & Sonic
Try starting Roxio Creator.

If still no luck , do a system restore to a date that is one or two days before you tried to install Roxio.
After system restore, log in from account with administrator privileges, and reinstall Roxio.
When you reinstall Roxio, instead of double clicking on installer file, try clicking right mouse button on setup file and choose "Run as Administrator" from dropdown menu.
Allow all requests to allow system changes when asked.

Regards.

Are you still there? We spoke this afternoon about my burning probelm. I have downloaded NERO as you suggested - now how do I load my Roxio Creator 2009 project into NERO?

You need Roxio Creator 2009 to open this type of file. Go to the Roxio's website for a purchase.
Nero will not load it.

Downloading a programn

If you have a DVD burner in your system, you probably have software that will allow you to burn disks already installed on your machine. The most common programs are Roxio, Sonic or Nero. I haven't used the Roxio software for a long time (since version 3), so I don't know how much as changed in its use. With Sonic or Nero, you just tell it what kind of disk you want to burn (for a program or data file, select data disc). Then add the files you would like to burn to the disk and click on the burn button. A few minutes later you will have a copy of your program burned onto the disk.

If for some reason you do not have any third-party burning software installed on your computer, you can insert a blank CD or DVD into the drive and when the autoplay options appear, select the option for having Windows prep the disk to burn files to it. Or you can even use Windows Media Player to do this too, but you would need to go into open up the Burn menu and select the Data CD or DVD option (instead of Audio CD).

Hope this helps!
