Easily the cheapest solution here would be to look to eBay. I just did a search of completed listings for the same camera and found 48 items in the last 30 days. Most of these used cameras didn't sell even with a starting bid of 99 cents. The market for film cameras is dead right now, so you can pick up a working one really cheap and use that or pick up a dead one and take its door for even cheaper.

Cant figure out where batterys go

There should be a door on the right side of the camera (as viewed from the back), with the hinge toward the rear. Insert a coin into the slot and give it a little twist to pop the door open. Insert a 3V CR123A or DL123A battery with the plus end (the one with the protrusion) on top. Close the door until it clicks.

If you need a manual, you can download one from http://butkus.org/chinon/canon_point_and_shoot/canon_pointandshoot.htm

Lens does not open opens part way and stops

Run the lens out as far as it will go. Look at the gap between the lens base and the camera housing. See if the gap is even all the way around. If it is closer on one side than the other, gently press lens cylinder toward the widest point. If you hear a tiny snap that means the guides have reseated. If that does not work, make sure you have a fully charged battery in the camera, plug the audio/video cable into the camera to disable the display, lay the camera back side down on a smooth firm stable surface, press down the shutter button and hold it down, then power up the camera. If that frees the lens, pick up the camera and point it downward. Using the zoom in and zoom out button, run the lens in and out several times to see if you can dislodge any grit between the lens cylinder and the camera housing.

If these steps do not work and the camera is destined for the trash can, try a couple of other steps. These may damage your camera or fix it.

1. Remove the battery. Grasp the camera by the top and bottom edge. Holding the camera over a couch, bed , or other soft surface, slap the camera front into your cupped other hand, two or three times. Replace the battery and see if it works. If it does, agasin hold the camera face down and run the lens in and out several times using the zoom button.

2. The very last resort is to try to pry the lens out with a slender tool. There is a great possibility you may damage your camera even further, but if you are going to trash it anyway it is worth the risk.If you are able to free the lens using a gentle prying force, again point it toward the floor and rund the lens in and out using the zoom button to try to free any grit or dirt binding the lens.

Can i use any 9 volt battery in the kodak k12? If

Yes, usually there is a sticker inside the battery chamber that shows the correct orientation of the contact. If stick is missing, the contact go in first. If the camera wont work, turn the battery over and try again If a new battery wont work at all the camera may be gone.

You don't need to open the camera to change the film. The battery door is on the other end. You open the door by inserting the protrusion on the plastic end piece of the strap into the slot of the battery door. It takes a small 3 volt battery.

Canon sure shot tele - old black with red rim

I suspect it depends on the model. The one my wife has does not have a sliding battery door. Look at the end where the body bulges. There are two screws above and below the strap hanger and they are both marked with a small arrow, >. Undo these (take care to do it over a table cloth so that they don't get lost and shouldn't bounce away to obilivon off the cloth). The side of the camera can then be pulled off and there is a type 245 lithium battery inside. Voltage is 6V. These days it may be called a 2CR5. Expect to pay up to £15 depending on where you get it from.
