Question about Hitachi 43UWX10B 43" Rear Projection Television
After being on for awhile the screen switches to what i would describe as a negative image and has white wavy lines. If i turn the set off and on it goes away for a while but comes back. The screen also has a red half moon dot in the center now. I cleaned the circit boards with air and they seem to be in good condition. The tv has always been well cared for. Any advice?
The problem you have with the picture is a problem with the video circuit. Most likely a coupling capacitor or the Y/C Video Jungle IC. the half mood on the picture could be a seriuos problem though. You will need to take off the front screen and while the set is on, look down all three picture tubes. Is there what looks like a spot on one of the pictubes surfaces? If there is, that tube is going to have to be replaced. If it looks like something floating around inside the tube, maybe the tube can be disassembled and cleaned.. Also check the mirrors inside the set and on the surface of the three lens, maybe there is a spot on one of those. Good Luck.
