I have a hotpoint TC71 condense dryer and the stats are gone (as there is very little heat coming from the dryer) Which stat do I replace? The one on the right or the one on the left?

The stats come as a pair, so replace both of them ,even though only one has gone.
Make sure that all your filters are clean, and that all air vents are clean and clear..
This is a common cause of stat failure.

Thanks.

Hotpoint tc71 trips ele every time I turn it on

I would suspect that the heater or thermostat./s are the cause of the prob.
Remove rear cover, and disconnect the heater and stats, and try again.
If it still trips, then you probably have got something more serious to contend with.

thanks.

Hotpoint ultima condenser dryer TC71 is running cold

Thermostats rarely go. You could have a bad heater or even a voltage problem. Even if the dryer runs, the voltage can still be wrong, it only needs 110 volts to start the motor but must have 220 to have heat.

Hotpoint Aquarius VTD 00 Tumble dryer no heat

Hi, it sounds like the reset stat gone on your vented drier. Remove the back cover, where the element is, and you should find two stats, one with a green spot. That's your reset stat. If you have a multimeter, turn it to buzzer and check the stat by touching the connections with the meter leads. If there's no buzzing, it's the reset stat. also check if the dark side of the stat is pushed inside. Remove the stat and hold it about 20inches from the floor. Drop it on the floor and the dark side will become flat. Repeat as many times as necessary. GUARANTEED TO WORK. Put everything back and that's it.
Cheers

I don't have any heat from my hotpoint aquarius ctd40G Tumble Dryer. I have cleared all the fluff from the condenser unit and unplugged the mains and tryed it all again but we still do not have any heat...

Remove the rear cover and you will see the element and stats, you will need a meter to test them.
Pull one wire off each thermostat and with a meter that beeps, test across each thermostat, if they are o/k, then the meter will beep,
if no beep then no good.
Replace all heater stats, even if only one has gone
If the stats are o/k then you will have to check the heater, this is more involved as it entails removing the top cover and left side panel looking at the dryer from the rear.
Unplug the heater lead, and again test with meter,if element o/k, then prob is timer or main pcb could be faulty, it really does get quite involved.
There is also a thermistor at the front of the dryer, that is part of the heating circuit.

Thnks.

No heat when drying

You need to check the heater element and thermostats which are lolcated behhind a removeable panel at the rear of the dryer..
You will need a meter to do this. Remove one wire from each thermostat and with the meter on the ohms range, test for continuity,if the stats are o/k you will get full scale deflection on the meter., if no movement then stat faulty, you must replace both stats at the same time.
take note which stat goes where as it is important you get them the right way round.
If stats o/k then the heater element is probably faulty.Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
PS, make sure all filters and vents are clean
Particularly the filter at the bottom left, remove it and wash it out under running water.

Spins but no heat

Update - we solved the same problem by resetting the Stat. Follow the instructions posted by kevinwhiteho, but we found that you had to push on the opposite side of the Stat with your finger whilst pushing the pin onto the trip mechanism.

Hotpoint wd 64, wash ok tumble not heating

take top off and you will see dryer manifold going across the top of machine. there are various stats mounted on the manifold. one or more may be a resettable stat ie has a small button in the middle top of the stat. press button and stat will reset. some hotpoint have instead, a thermal fuse mounted on top of the manifold in a sleeve. this may have gone open circuit so check with a multimeter

No heat

hi there
your problem is either the t-stats have blown which is very common or your heater is blown..

im guessin your t-stats beacuse they are the most common on hotpoint dryers to blow. There always blowing

They located at the back of the dryer behind the protuding panel so there for you dont need to open it all up just that panel.

To check if their blown check for continuity,, no continuity no good merry christmas cheers
