Hi Dipu, Powering down etc does not clear the error. Also, the output stages seem to be OK.

  • Thermionic Dec 16, 2008

This is not about resetting... thanks for trying but I already repaired it and it works fine now.

How to hook a carver TFM 45 to a Marantz AV 8003 pre amp with Bose 901 speakers thank you very much

The output of the Marantz will go to the input of the Carver. The Bose EQ has to go into a Tape Monitor on the Marantz, or, you can connect the Marantz output to the Bose line in(not tape in). The line output of the Bose, to the Carver input.

Is there anything else I'm missing?

How to hook up a Marantz AZ8003 pre amp to a carver TFM 35 a.m.

Please see my last few comments on the same issue. If you can't find it, please let me know. BTW, Marantz does not show the AZ8003 to be a valid model.

How do I connect my marantz pm8200 to TV

You can connect TV RCA outputs to any line input e.g. tape, tuner, CD etc on the Marantz. If your TV doesn't have separate RCA outputs use a 'scart to RCA audio outputs' adaptor... TVs have a standard line output level compatible with most if not all hi-fi.

Hi can I hook up my marantz mm500u amp to my pioneer 305 vsx audio reciever

I presume you just want to slave the Marantz to play whatever the Pioneer is playing.

Run a pair of RCA cables from either the Pioneer Tape Monitor REC or the VCR/Tape 1 Out jacks to the desired Marantz Input jacks. DON'T activate the corresponding switch on the Pioneer.

Only the basic Leftand Right channel programming that the Pioneer plays will be available at the Marantz. You will NOT have centralized volume control at the Pioneer.

Where is the internal fuse of marantz pm7200

The top link is for a manual for your model. The second link is a Fixya link concerning "no power". I'm not sure why you are looking for fuse but, have to assume it's a no power issue.

The above link is a support link for Marantz. Hope this helps.

Vintage Stereo Connection ???

Hi spanky

Where to start :) I am excited thinking about them :p You got 2 totally cool pieces of classic vintage gear there in the C2 and the Marantz. I have a C2 preamp myself (gathering dust but wont sell it cos its excellent) and the marantz would be totally cool to have(but then I am a little biased towards 70's vintage marantz). They ruled the roost in HiFi amps throughout that decade.

Because they are both integrated amps, you could use them as standalone systems with a pair of speakers, and just plug your favourite gear into them. If you just wanted to run up a nice sounding HiFi, I would sell the kenwood gear and just keep the Marantz. The Kenwood kr1100 has the edge in power, so if it is grunt you are looking for use that. Because vintage sound is all about stereo, you only really need an integrated amp to get great results.

the specs are
# Kenwood Model Eleven G (KR-11000G) Receiver
120W per channel min RMS, both channels driven, at 8 ohms from 20 to 20.000 Hz with no more than 0.03% total harmonic distortion.
Dynamic power output 440W at 4 ohms
Power bandwidth 5 Hz to 70.000 HZ
Frequency response 5 Hz to 100.000 HZ -1.5dB
Signal to noise ratio 115dB

The marantz is a little lower in power at 75rms a channel, but will have the sonic edge in vintage sound over the kr1100. Look them up on ebay and you will find that they do have some value to collectors and people seeking nice tone. There is an 1152 for sale here for AU$900

Best bet is to fire up the 2 integrated amps, and see how they are going. Run them for several hours to be sure there is no strange noises and crackles. Then decide if you want power or finesse.

You could also run both amps from the C2 preamp by connecting to the Amp in connections to the rear of the integrated amps.

happy to talk to you more about it, hit me with a Fixya if my advice was helpful to you. I would keep the marantz, use that and sell the rest and buy some nice speakers:)

regards
robotek

Marantz sr 73 amp/ receiver

Hi raj

what happens when you turn up the volume... does it come back in again... if so it could be a faulty speaker protection relay, or at least dirty contacts to same. Can be fixed by burnishing the contacts.
Let me know if sharp increase of vol changes the muting problem

regards
Graeme

HI!

The receiver is going into "protect mode". This means an internal fault has been detected and will require professional service.
