HP All in One printer causing problems with my computer.
I recently bought a hp c4400 all in one printer and it wouldn't print from the computer, nor would it scan anything into the computer. I have tried uninstalling it but it won't uninstall. I have tried everything I know. I even went as far as to try to restore my comp but the earliest I can restore it is to the date I installed the all in one. I tried my recovery disk, same thing, I can only recover back to the date the printer was installed! Is is possible that the software that came with the printer is corrupt? Even my antivirus won't work.

Yes, It is possible that the setup disk is corrupt/virus infected. First try to update your antivirus. Then use Revo unistaller to uninstall the software. Now download fresh setup files from HP site. That will solve your porblem

Have you recently change print cartridges. This happened to me on another printer. I went to Costco to refill my print cartridges and it worked for awhile than it stopped printing. After a lot of headache, the problem was the print cartridges. It needs to be reprogrammed or else buy a new official HP print cartridge. I went back to Costco and they reprogrammed it and it worked.
unplug all the connection again.
plug in one item at a time, and wait till the computer finished the detection. If the computer can't detect the USB. try another USB port. till all of you devices are connected.
ok, I would suggest that you try to use just a base driver for the printer, and eliminate all the glitz and glamour of the management software. So uninstall all of that stuff, then get the latest basic driver here and just instal the driver, none of the optional goodies:
What happens when you try to print?
1. When you try to print do you see the printer icon on the taskbar? (lower right)
2. Do you see the printer in your printers folder?(start/settings/control panel/ printers) Might need installed
3. Is the printer your default printer? (right click on the printer in the above area and select "set as default printer")
4. Is it plugged in, turned on and plugged into your computer?
5. Has the software been installed or recently updated?
Let me know if this helps
According to the HP website , the printer ain't build to work with windows 2000. But you can try the windows xp driver 32 bit as it works on the same windows 2000 platform.

I paid for the printer along with a promise from HP that they would answer any problems I had. I certainly do not want to pay someone. I already have an IT dept at work who would gladly help me without charge. I don't understand how HP can presume upon me to pay for a problem that is theirs.
