Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls determine if there are any indications that power is coming into the set such as any of the LEDs is lit. Additionally, pls check if any would be blinking. The sequence and number of blinks would correspond to a general area that the unit has sensed to be faulty. This would then point us to the probable fault and course of action.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Try first unplugging power cable for ten minutes, and see if the TV restarts.

IPlug off the TV power cord, also unplug all the TV cables to other devices.

Wait ten minutes or longer, plug back the TV and restart it.

If there is no power at all, and no sign of life, test a different AC socket, if still no joy, it is probably a faulty PSU.
If the power plug is fused (like in UK), check the fuse on power cord.

If the TV turns itself off completely, with no power and no led light,
same as if the power cord was unplugged, then this is either a
defective power cord or power adapter.

If the TV goes on standby
state and does not restart, then tv is on protect mode, and this
happens when a fault is detected. This means that there is a defective
component that is failing only under determined circumstances.

the AC networ is unstable, then that can be the cause for the TV goin
off. In this case you restart the tv by leaving power cord unplugged
for a while. this can also be tested by a technician.

Call the technician the same and have the fault fixed, before the problem excalates and you get more damage to the TV set.

you are in case A, the technican will test power board, and easily spot
and repair the fault, usually this kind of problem can be caused by a
    defective capacitor on power board.

If you are in case b, it may
be more difficult for the repairman to find the fault. This kind of
faults are often caused by a faulty IC( for example defective
convergence ICs) or a faulty component on one of the internal boards,
and it is usually more difficult to locate the problem.

My viera th42px77u changes colors - yellows to pink, all the skin tones very pink and greens where there should not be green.

Likely it is the "main" board that processes all signal although unlikely it could also be an issue with the power supply board.

If you GOOGLE the model number with "circuit boards" and or parts you will get an idea of what the parts cost may be but labor is another issue.

PANASONIC 42" PLAZMA ModelTH-42PX77U Set runs for

I hate to say it but these Panasonic plasmas are known for power supply issues. If you google the model # looking for power supply price you will have a pretty good guess at repair cost. Usually around 175-245 us dollars at reasonably priced repair shop. Good luck, Russmann.

My panasonic plasma tv model number th-42px77u won't turn on

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.

If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Panasonic TH-42PX75U won't turn on

Your powerboard is damaged, and need to be replaced.

Sometimes it appear the TV is working again with no problem but it is only a matter of time for the board to get completely damaged.

Panasonic 42px77u hd 2007 screen crack!

You can replace the panel if you can find the spare part. It'll work after you replace the panel. But the panel itself is quite expensive. Almost as much as a new tv.

TH-42PX77U wont turn on with remote....?

Panasonic uses the flashing of the power LED as a guide for trouble shooting their sets when no image is visible. So if the power LED blinks 3 times then the D board is defective. Basically its the main control board. It needs to be serviced.
