it takes some time for the codes for new tvs to be set by manufacturers if they do it at all

you should try to check scientific atlanta site for newest codes or check with LG to see if an old code will give you some control functions

there is a good chance it will never work and you are better off programming LG remote to control scientific atlanta box

For Time Warner Cable digital remote controls to work with your 42" LG HDTV, do the following:

1. Press "TV" and "OK" simultaneously for 3 seconds, until the button "tv" light on the remote is on.

2. Enter the TV code. In this case, it's "113". With the right code, your component will turn off. Quickly press the power button on your digital cable remote to turn it back on. Press the "TV" button again so that the remote saves that code.

3. You should be done.

If you have a URC-7800 the codes 0477, 0008, 0017 should work for the scientific atlanta cable box.

I am having this same problem with our Mitsubishi LCD Flat Panel TV, Model LT-46246 ans our Scientific Atlanta remote cable box, same model as yours. We cannot use the remote at all to change the channel. I called Mitsubishi and they said they have never heard of this. I find this incredibly hard to believe. Time Warner, our cable provider says that it is not the box because it works when not hooked up to the TV. What a pain. I would love to hear if anyone else is having this problem or has a fix for it.
