IF i TRY TURNING IT ON EITHER WITH REMOTE CONTROL OR MANUALLY, THE RED LIGHT WILL FLICKER AND GO DIM BUT WILL NOT GO GREEN AND THE SET WILL NOT POWER UP. I DID MANAGE TO GET IT WORKING AND ALL FUNCTIONS WERE NORMAL BUT AFTER I SWITCHED IT OFFTHE RED LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON BUT IT JUST GOES OUT IF I TRY TO TURN THE SET ON NOW
This model was known for capacitors on the 12 volt line giving issues, if your able to change them this should fix it for you, you can buy them online for about a quarter each

Hi to all, My 42" Panasonic plasma have the same problem. It turned itself off and now red light flashes 7 times, than after short pause 7 times again. And so on. Any ideas what is wrong??

Whe you press the power button the TV led have to blink several times and the it have to change to blue, meaning Tv is on.
If you press the power button and the led start blinking and goes off, then you need to replace the mainboard because it is damaged.

the problem is in the power supply(they know about it good luck fighting them)but there is good news.you can remove the power supply and replace electrolytic caps,EC18,EC19,EC20 all of them are 1000mf at16 volt use 1000mf at25 volt.you can also go to shopjimmy.com enter model number you will see power supply part number MLT169B
it will be cheaper for you to replace the caps,the board cost about $80.00 from them

Have an LG26Lx1D for about 3 years, dropped off by my son.(Figures).Power light just blinking, but went back to red.Removed back panel, and metal cover. Just above antenna/cable input, its a small fan,mine was full of dirt. Blow off dirt, and make sure its turning freely.
Install back the covers, an voila....its a miracle...its working again.

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics’ and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
