Most motherboards come with a manual. He said he lost his info ****! I am having the same problem because I too lost my info. I took pictures and hooked everything up right, but no power. I took it to my computer guy, he checked it and said the powere supply didn't work, so I exchanged it (same type-new for new) but am having the same problem. Anyine know where to get schematics? Are there issues with the power supply being too strong for the board, even though it said they were compatible...?

Look for a set of pins ....about 14 of them all together in 2 rows....you need to look on the board around those pins....there should be abreviations eg pwr for power etc.....should indicate where each connector goes.....usually very small writing so make sure you have good light

There is usually a set of pins on the corner that are labeled get a magnify glass and light up the board take the glass and look down on one of the corners it is usually on the right corner of the bottom of the board at the bottom of the desktop case. You will usually see a series of abbreviations. LED, HDD, PWR, RES or RE the pins are marked. Now on the wires to the power button you will see the same wire abbreviations. Just hook up the HDD wire to the HDD pin the PWR to the PWR button wire and so on. RESET wire is RE or RES etc. Those really are the only three you will need. Not sure of the exact abbreviations. But they are lettered enough for you to match them. The best thing to do is try to download the board specs and get a look at the pins one side is neg and the other is positive it would be to your best interest to find the mother board specs for you mother board since you went all over the internet and could not find the board specs. just match the LED and the others they are marked PWR is the main and HDD is just showing when the HDD is working. The reset is for the button to reset the computer. It is basic and not that complicated really. Thanks for using FixYa! John

The green light just show that the motherboard is getting power.
The power button of the front of the case is connected to the mother board, not to the power supply, usually in the extreme lower left corner along with the with the HDD and Reset Button cords; Power button wire are labeled and usually red/black.
If all wired correctly, possible bad or stuck power button or reset button.
Hope this helps.

Hello Sir, hi, the wires on your casing are usually labeled, like in the picture below: cyberdyers_0.jpg

the power led green wire goes to the power led + and the white goes to the - . Now the HDD + goes to the HDD + the red wire, power switch can be interchange, same as the reset switch.

Installed an Upgrated Mother Brd,in my Hp Desktop Tower, but the power Switch receptacle in the New Mother Brd has 16 pns

You need to track the wires from the case front panel to thier locations: one will be your power switch, one your reset, one hard drive activity light, and one your power light. You want to note and label which light or switch they go to then go to the new motherboards manual and plan which wires need to go where.
the front panel switches : reset and power switch- these are momentary switches so it doesnt matter which way they go.
hard drive activity and power light- these should have a colored wire and a black or white. the colored wire will be your + side.
