Hi , There are no drivers avilable under W 7 for this unit and it's a shame . Try installing the XP or Vista driver and run the scanner in compatibility mode . I succeeded with a HP scanner by downloading a third party twain program after having successfully installed the driver for W XP : http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10673689.html Best regards .
Hi , I succeeded to make my Scanjet 4470c run in WIA mode under W7 32-bit Ultimate . Should also work with W7 64-bit . Make sure driver XP ( yes , XP ) is correctly installed . Then , download and install FreeKapture ( yes , it's free ) from here : http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10673689.html Load Freekapture , clic on Scan and select WIA-Hewlett-Packard . Scanner works fine in this mode but if you choose HP PrecisionScan Pro , program will freeze . In any case , no slides or negatives scans possible but the rest works . Regards .

I succeeded into installing and using the Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB!
I downloaded the driver for Windows Vista from the Mustek website, then did the following steps: 1. left mouse click on the web.exe downloaded file and choose Properties; 2. in Properties I checked "Execute this program always as Administrator" and "Execute in compatibility mode for Windows Vista"; 3. without any scanner connected I executed web.exe, gave the authorization even if recognized certificate; 4. allowed the system to restart; 5. connected the scanner; 6. directly used it into any program.
Please let me know if these instructions was useful!
If you are using Windows Vista OS, then you are not likely to have the scanning feature functional as its version of the machine's drivers does not include scanner. Otherwise you could have succeeded in printer installation. It is recommended to install the drivers without connecting/attaching the device to the system until when prompted incase you want to re-install the software. Good luck
