Hi
If the dishwasher doesn't fill with water:

Step 1: Make sure that the water supply to the unit is turned on and that there's no problem at the water heater. A shutdown of the water heater would cause a shutdown of the water to the dishwasher.

Step 2: Check the timer to make sure it's working through its programmed sequences. If both the water supply and the timer are in working order, the problem is probably in the inlet valve.

Step 3: Check the inlet valve located under the tub of the dishwasher. Malfunctions of the inlet valve may also occur when a screen inside the valve becomes clogged with mineral deposits. To solve this problem, pry out the screen with a screwdriver and flush it thoroughly with running water. Then replace the screens.

Step 4: If the valve is controlled by a solenoid, the solenoid is usually connected to the side of the dishwasher. Tap the solenoid and the valve lightly with the handle of a screwdriver to break it free of any obstruction. Then start the dishwasher again.

Step 5: If the dishwasher still doesn't fill, test the solenoid with a volt-ohm-milliammeter (VOM) set to the RX1 scale. Disconnect one electrical lead to the solenoid and clip one probe of the VOM to each solenoid terminal. If the meter reads from about 100 ohms to 1,000 ohms, the solenoid is functioning. If the reading is higher than 1,000, the solenoid is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 6: If necessary, replace the solenoid with a new one of the same size and type. Connect the new solenoid the same way the old one was connected

That sounds like a defective timer control, check if the waterl level switch is fine first.

If no water at all is coming into the machine on any cycle, then check the water level switch, if this is fine, it is probably a defective timer control.

If you have water coming into the machine, but the cycle stop when it is supposed to have hot water, then it can be a defective heating element or thermostat. Both parts must be tested using a multimeter.
If the heating element is working, and the thermostat is fine, then again it is a defective timer control.

Naturally I posted the above considerations assuming that you replaced the inlet valve, and you mounted it properly, when there is no water at all getting into the machine, a valve stuck closed is always the most likely.

    I post my previous comment:

Our intergrsted Indesit dishwasher DIF04 has stopped working. We put it on as usual and it sounds like it’s taking on water, then after 5-10 minutes it sounds like it’s letting the water out and then...

Try this:

Switch off the appliance by pressing the O N/OFF button. Shut off
the water tap to eliminate the risk of flooding and remove the plug
from the electrical socket.
Make sure the water inlet filter has not become blocked by various impurities. (see "Care and maintenance" chapter)

My indesit dishwasher is not drying when the cycle is finish

Possibly the drying /heater element is faulty. Check the machine isn't on a non drying cycle. Some machines will do the last rinse in hot water but leave the dishes to drip dry in the hot humid air after the rinse. If the dishes or water isn't hot during a rinse , I would say its the element.

Indesit dishwasher idl40 s I have lights 1 and 3 flashing after shortly staring it's cycle. Then it empties and stops but there is no water hardly when I open the door. Any ideas please??

It would appear that the washer is not getting water, though it could be aborting the cycle early for some reason.

Try to google "Indesit dishwasher idl40s lights 1 & 3 flashing", and various permutations to see what others have said. At the least you need to understand what that pattern of lights flashing means.

There is an electric valve that the washer controls to allow it to fill with water when needed. This may be clogged or may have failed.

Pursue the flashing light issue first so you understand what the washer is complaining about.

Suggest you check the electrical lines from the panel on out. Something is wrong with connections and it could be dangerous. If you're not familiar with electricity, get someone who is.

INCREASE THE WATER TEMP AT THE HOUSE WATER HEATER SO YOU WILL HAVE 120 DEGREE WATER COMING INTO THE DISHWASHER. IF THE DISHWASHER IS NEXT TO THE SINK, PURGE THE HOT WATER LINE AT THE SINK UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY GET HOT WATER. THEN, START YOUR DISHWASHER.

Water filling does not stop

Water supply to the dishwasher is done through an electromagnet valve, loocated at the water pipe's enterance to the machine. A defect in the valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it, and the valve may leak and drip water into the tub.You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from the machine before doing it !!!!! and as well to close water main tap to the machine. In case cleaning doesn't help, you should replace the valve. Good luck !!

Dishwasher not resetting before new cycle

I have had the same problem. The issue is with the dip tray + overflow detector under the machine. What happened is the dip tray is full of water and the overflow detects this condition and prevents the machine from starting.
It looks like there is no water present in the machine but the drip tray, located underneath, is full. Give the machine a good shake and you should see water.
I solved it easily: just get a mop, lift the machine's front so that it tilts backwards and collect the water as it escapes the drip tray towards the back of the machine. The tray can collect quite a bit of water so you're likely to need a few tilts until it's empty.
In my case, the underlying case had been a previous mistake - we didn't allow the machine to finish completely and water had remained on it. Somehow the water had found its way to the tray. Other causes my be another appliance sharing the same waste pipe and pushing water down the dishwasher's waste system.
