D Farley,
I repair these nailers all the time. Anytime the nail or staple is bending you have 2 causes. Either the stapler has a broken blade, the magazine is loose on the foot gate, or you are shooting into plywood over concrete. that is allowing the staple to hit the cement subfloor. Use 11 /2" staples on 3/4" wood floor over 3/4" plywood when over concrete.

Ive had the same problem where it was putting divits you could see from the staples, we ended up changing out the flooring completely. Only thing besides trying diff psi's to get it perfect and different length staples/different heads on staples(nails) , maybe try staple gun. Keep trying every woods different, odd that it started half way through job.. odd.

Bostitch m3 nailer keeps bouncing up and staples are not going in all the way -- no matter how much pressure I put on it to hold it. Air compresser pressure was 100%..changed to 80%...problem still exist.

Inside the nailer is a double acting piston and 2 portions of it are threaded together. It sounds like some portion of it has unthreaded itself. This usually causes the condition you discribe. These nailers are faily complicated to work on, you may want to take it to a Bostitch service center and have them repair it. They have a 7 year warranty as well so if its newer than that it should be free anyways.

What is the correct way to place the nails into the gun? This gun uses both cleats and staples. I am using cleats but it does not seem to be working. I may be putting the cleats in wrong.

If you have a Bostitch MIII FN it is only for cleats. Bostitch doesn't make a universal nailer that takes staples and cleats. The MIIIFN is the "floor nailer" and the Model MIIIFS is the "floor stapler"
Maybe check exactly what model you have and ensure you are not trying to put cleats into a stapler.

Using the BOstitch flooring nailer, good air pressure and using cleats. but when i tap with hammer noting happens. the nailer goes off as if it had gone off but no nail was driven.

1. check to make sure the magazine does not contain a jam.
2. check to make sure the driver retracts fully to allow the cleat to advance
3. Be sure to have at least 90psi and to hit the head hard enough to fully fire the nailer.

Question regarding Bostitch MIIIFN or MIIIFS

Hi,
Read the warranty for Woven Strand Bamboo floors. I think you find this is the wrong tool. You`ll probably find that you need an 18ga 1/4" crown, so it don`t split!
Thanks,
Jeff
