Wrong colors when printing on photo paper

Did a greyscale picture, that I need to print on photo paper. Did a preprint on regular paper and the printout was just fine as expected. Put the Premium photo paper in the printer and out comes a picure with a red/brown glow on top of the greyscale picture.

Have done this before in WIN2000, have changed to VISTA 32-bit, updated the printer driver, printing from CS2 and have doublechecked the setup on the printer..selecting the photo paper and checked the greyscale printing option and also did a printout without selecting the greyscal printout,,,no change

With respect to color usage during greyscale printing: Unfortunately, with many of the newer inkjet printer models & printer drivers, printing in greyscale actually consumes more color ink than normal draft printing. If you wish to save on color ink, it is suggested to do one of the following as available in your specific printer driver/software:

-Print in Normal - Draft mode (or super draft if available), plain paper.
-Print in Black & White mode only* - Draft mode on plain paper (typically this is the best way to save on ink/printing costs).
-For internet page printing, print using CleanPrint (3rd party software for printing most internet-based content from all major internet browsers. NOTE: not affiliated with Inkjet411):http://www.formatdynamics.com/cleanprint-4-0/
-Keep printer on at all times; power up cycles typically consume large amounts of ink (per Consumer Reports, Aug 2013 issue).

    * Most printer models will still consume a small percentage of color ink due to normal ink/printer maintenance, such as between job 'spitting'. The purpose is to ensure the printhead is maintained to avoid clogging.

Regarding Canon 240, 241, 240XL, 240XXL or 241XL repurchase or ink cartridge refilling, if you unable to find a retail / refill store close to you and you are trying to cut ink costs, may we suggest you try a remanufactured ink cartridge from http://www.inkplicity.com/ as their ink cartridges typically have the lowest cost in the USA, have a high reliability rating, come with a 1-year warranty and provide free shipping for all orders above $20 (available to US residents only).

You will need to get that color cartridge. When printing a photo the printer will pull from both color and black to make a grey scale picture

Prints black and white fine, but when printing color photos, wrong colors are used and/or only half the picture is printed. The second half sometimes comes out on the next sheet of paper. Nozzles aren't...

The color printer might not print in color due to dirt and other unwanted particles present in the printer. Due to this unwanted particles, the ink used for printing and other materials might become blocked inside the printer device and this might lead to some printing issues. In order to resolve this issue, regular cleaning of the printer is necessary.

Hello I have an HP 2600n and would like to print on 5x7 paper, is this a possibility with this printer? it seems that it will pull the paper through but nothing is printed

Copied this from the specification on HP site.

It would appear not to take 5 x 7. It's the 7" is to small, 8.5 is the smallest.

Media sizes, std.
Letter, legal, executive, No. 10 envelopes, Monarch envelopes
Media sizes, custom
Tray 1, 2, 3: 3 x 5 to 8.5 x 14 in
Media types
Paper (plain, letterhead, prepunched, bond, color, rough, preprinted, recycled), HP Color Laser Glossy Photo Paper, HP Color Laser Glossy Brochure Paper, HP Color Laser Matte Brochure Paper, HP Color Laser Matte Photo & Imaging Paper, HP Color Laser Soft Gloss Presentation Paper, HP color laser transparencies, labels, envelopes, cardstock

Wont print out accurate color when printing a Greyscale photo

Hi, I recommend doing a nozzle check first to ensure all the colours are printing fine.
Within the advanced option of the printer driver you have an option to select greyscale, it might be worth enabling this feature.
If you are using glossy media the problem might be down to the ink reaction with the glossy resin as this can cause casting or bronzing. To check this try printing on matt paper.
If you are printing from Photoshop check your colour matching settings, the easiest way to do this without messing to much is try printing from another application, I would recommend Epson's own, Easy Photo Print.

My printer has suddenly started printing terrible quality photos

I discovered I had switched photo paper in the process. The new paper obviously isn't compatible with this printer. I went and purchased more of my regular paper and the pictures began printing well again.

Ink Color Issues

Did you change any of the configurations on your printer. Most photo printers have color settings that are media dependent. It sounds like you might have it set to print on regular paper but not on photo paper. There are a lot of settings that you can accidentally change on a printer so I would suggest uninstalling the printer then reinstalling it and see if that is the issue.

Photo Printer

sina, Does the photo print good using photo paper? How regular of a paper? Do all other colors have ink? What program are you printing the photo from? Have you tried printing from a different program? Some programs send varying information to printers. If all of the above has been tried...uninstall the printer and download the newest drivers from EPSON and re-install the printer. Good luck Tim
