Printer is in a frozen stare. It's plugged in but the power light doesn't light up when pressed. The wireless indicator light however is lit (orange color since wireless router is turned off). I've unplugged the power cord from the wall outlet, removed/reinserted the power supply, and plugged the power cord back in again with the same results. Please help.

Hi Bret! Since this is a brand new printer, I would advise calling Lexmark. I'm afraid that you may void your warranty if you do much more at this point except for going back through the steps to make sure the duplexer was installed correctly.
1. Power off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet
2. Push the release button, and gently lower the front door.
3. Release the green tabs and lift up the image transfer belt.
4. Remove the cover over the duplex connector.
5, Remove the duplex option from the packaging. Carefully install the option into the printer, under the image transfer unit. NOTE: Make sure to line
up the arrows on the duplex option with the arrows on the printer. Make
sure the duplex option locks into position.
6. Lower the image transfer belt back into position. Make sure the belt locks into position.
7. Close the front cover.
8. Plug the printer back in, then power the printer on.
9. Try printing a few pages to confirm that the duplex option is
securely installed. Then select the duplex option in the software and
print a few double-sided pages to confirm that the duplex option is
working.
The following link will take you to the instructions for enabling the duplex option in the software.
If the above does't work, I would strongly suggest contacting Lexmark for further help.

4. Close the front panel

That's the same printer I have.
First, make sure the blue "copy" button is lit. Printing is done there.
Then, go to the circle with the checkmark in it and hit the menu, and arrow down to copy papy size and make sure it says "letter".
Click start on your computer, then click control panel, then printers, and make sure Lexmark 8300 series is the default printer and has a green checkmark in a circle.
If all these things are right, you should be able to print a test page and the computer should work fine.
If any one of them are wrong they must be corrected. If you need help on any one of those please write back.

I have the same problem with my S605!! Although it is 18 months old.
Reading various blogs on the internet, this seems to be a common problem. Other users reporting it to Lexmark seem to get replacement printheads, sometimes more than one. Others get their machine replaced!
After having read all these negative reports my advice to you is to return it to your vendor and ask for it to be replaced with another machine from a different manufacturer.
Lexmark machines seem to have a constant ongoing problem with their printheads (for years).
Sorry to be so negative but you and I have bought ourselves a load of trouble.
Good luck
Ron
