When your dryer won't start, it could be a number of problems from a broken door latch or start switch to an exhaust duct blocked by lint. It could even be a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.
The first step in troubleshooting any electrical appliance is to ensure that it is plugged in and receiving power. While dryer plugs do not come loose easily, it can happen.

Hello beeps299,
If your Electric Dryer isn't doing anything at all, I would encourage you to do a few basic checks..
First off, are you sure that the circuit breaker feeding power to the dryer hasn't tripped?
If that's OK and you are sure you have power getting to the dryer then the next thing to check would be the door interlock switch. If that is not working properly when the door shuts, that disables most other functions. The switch could be defective, the wiring that goes to it may have gotten disconnected or damaged so that is where I would start to look first....
Hope that helps.
Other things that may impact the dryer are non-resettable fuses inside but I wouldn't go that route until you've checked the basics.. Let me know what happens after your initial checks are done..
Regards,
Rick

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.
To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

If you have verified the voltage at the wall receptacle and at the terminal block in the back of the dryer to be 220-240VAC, you need to check the Thermal Fuse inside the dryer to determine if it is still good. On your dryer, the thermal fuse is located behind the back panel on the blower fan housing. To access, follow these steps:
1. UNPLUG the dryer before servicing. Dangerous voltages are still present inside the dryer with the unit turned off.
2. Remove the dryer vent hose from the back of the dryer.
3. Remove the back panel by loosening all screws holding the panel in place.
4. The blower fan housing will be located on the lower left-hand side (as viewed from the rear).
5. Look for a small white plastic component on the housing. This is the Thermal Fuse.
6. Remove the wire leads and perform a resistance check. If good, the fuse will read about a short (0 ohms). If bad, it must be replaced.
Illustrations of your dryer are available at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look for item number 7 under the "Bulkhead" heading. Repairclinic.com and appliancepartspros.com are also excellent sources for finding parts.

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch.
A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is
not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever
breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you
need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door
then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking
the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece
with 2 wires attached.
