HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT AN E-MACHINE DISPLAY FAILURE basically to troubleshoot a display failure on your laptop follow the procedures below.u need a star screw driver to help you take the laptop apart. 1.get to the bottom of the laptop and take off the memory bay cover.clean the metallic side of the memory and insert it back into the memory slot.power on the laptop and check if problem is solved,if not 2.connect your laptop to an external monitor and power on the laptop, if problem persist 3.then there is a likelihood of it being either the video graphic array(VGA) or the bios chip needs an update depending on the processor of your laptop. 4.if your laptop comes with an AMD processor then I'm certain it a VGA problem 5.but if your processor is the INTEL type then you have to flash or update your firmware bios chip via hardware or software.you can either change the bios chip or flash it. 6.a floppy or a pen drive will be needed to make a bootable bios flash software. 7.to solve a VGA problem u need to take it to a professional technician to warm the VGA chipset in order to get contact with the motherboard.better still if you have a hot air device you can take your laptop apart and warm the VGA chipset on the motherboard.afterwards exerting a little pressure with a piece of cloth on the VGA chipset to make it have contact with the motherboard.
You can use drivermax, its free and it will detect the missing drivers for your laptop. Just make sure your internet is working since it will search for the driver online automatically. This is a safe software and ive been using it for quite sometime now.

If you cangatehr this much of information you are no less than a computer engineer. Nobody needs to build a car to change its tyre.
If you arrange a spare HDD and RAM, remove the original HDD and try to install windows on that. And if problem persists do the same with RAM also.
I am sure you could solve this problem yourslef.
Let's start with the most overlooked reason. Sounds like the battery died. Is your laptop's battery fully charged.
Plug it in over night and give it a good chance to recharge the battery. Then turn on your laptop WITH the power cable attached.
Did this solve your problem? If not we'll go to the next step.
If you have no power you may replace the power supply. The power supply is part of the power cord. If you have power and no display, are you able to hook the laptop to a monitor? That would allow you to atleast access the machine.
Let me know what happens.
