Upgraded power supply, upgraded to AMD 965 Quad core, Mother board stops at error C5, monitor blank during this. C5 error says reset video controller. HOW?

try this: 1. turn off the computer 2. disconnect the VGA connector (the cable from the monitor) 3. remove the video card from the motherboard 4. the motherboard has the on board video controller, connect your VGA monitor to that slot. 5. turn on the computer, I hope by now your monitor is ok ;-)

Monitor is switching off immediately after system is switched on. Again when monitor is switched on, images appear for about 3 seconds and again monitor switches off.pl give the solution.

You need to determine if you is turning off or going into standby mode. When your monitor shuts off, the power light will turn orange if it is in standby or the light will turn completely off if the monitor turns off. If your monitor goes to standby, that means that your monitor is losing signal which indicates a problem with your PC. #1 Make sure cable is firmly secured and both screws are tight #2 Check your video card make sure that it is firmly in its slot. Take it out and put it back in. *as long as your computer is open give it a good cleaning with compressed air* If those things check out it is possible that your video card has failed and needs to be replaced.
If your monitor is powering off #1Check plugins- try something else (i.e. lamp) in the outlet #2 Try your PC's power cord in your monitor

Monitor will not turn on? westinghouse model L2046NV black screen will not turn on what should I do?

Do you see an orange light on the monitor anywhere? Usually the light turns green when the monitor comes on, but its orange when in "standby" mode. If your monitor is plugged in and you get an orange light, that usually means that your video card has gone out on your computer. When your video card goes out, the monitor doesn't receive a signal from your computer, so it doesn't know it is suppose to turn on. So if this is the case, you need to replace the video card on your computer

If your monitor doesn't turn on whatsoever, and everything is plugged in correctly, then you need to get a new monitor or send this one back to the manufacturer for a defective replacement.

Hope this helps! :)

Won't turn on. Only yellow light at the bottom of the unit. I heard a brief clicking noise from the back. Maybe a relay. What are my options?

The yellow light means the monitor is in standby mode. When the computer is active the monitor sees a signal from the video card and it wakes up. You should check your cable, make sure the monitor is on the correct input if it has more then one, then try plugging in a different monitor to rule out the video card being faulty. If you are handy with computers you should also open the case of the computer and make sure the video card is fully seated in the slot unless it's onboard video.

Monitor wont work

You were not very clear with your question. If you mean you have disabled your onboard video, then installed the new video card and get nothing then the card is not compatible with your system OR you got a bad card. If you mean you simply installed the card, turn on your computer and get nothing until you move your monitor plug back to the original port (without turning off the computer) then you must disable your onboard video by going into your BIOS settings. Follow the instructions that came with your video card or your computer to do that. Usually you get in by pressing delete or F2 while the computer boots.

Dell Monitor Not Working

well if the status of the LEd on the monitor is amber(orange) & the system is running on a on board video card & not a Add-on video card... it is a possibility the the integrated video card ot the mother board might have gone bad... either contact a local tech or the tech support for the computer...

also unplug the monitor cable from the system tower & then if you see that there are the bars moving which say monitor self test on... means tht the problem is with the video card or the mother board...
since the system is running on a integrated video card...

Monitor stays in standby from startup

Try it on a different computer. Standy usually indicates not getting a signal from the video card and then it goes into standy. If it works on a different machine or laptop, check your video card.
