Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Scanner works correctly sometimes and then only scans a portion

HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One - Scanner intermittently only scans a portion of the document. Once it does this, it continues. Then I may try it again in a day or so and it may scan the entire document once or twice and then goes back to only scanning a portion again.

I don't have the exact printer, but I was having the same problem with it. Here's what I did to solve it:
1. Before you start scanning open HP Scan Pro.
2. Click on new scan and it will give you a preview of what is to be scanned.
3. There should be a window you can adjust to scan only a certain area, click on the handles and pull them out to scan the entire page.
4. When you have surrounded desired area, click accept down at the bottom and it should scan the entire page.

Hope this helps!

(I should also probably mention I did this on my mac. It may be a little different for Microsoft users, but this should still work.

I am trying to scan a multiple page document into a single pdf document on my HP C7280 but it scans each page to individual images. Any suggestions?

In Adobe Acrobat:-
From 'File' select 'Create PDF', 'from Scanner'.
Scan the first page and the program will ask of you for 'Next' or 'Done'.
Select 'Next' until you have scanned the last page, then select 'Done'.
You can also make the document searchable by carrying out an OCR on it under 'Documents', 'Recognise text under OCR', 'Start'.

Can not scan to mac computer from hp c7280. What should I do? I need to know how to scan hp c7280 to my imac computer. I receive the message "refer to device documentation to troubleshoot." ...

There are multiple ways to use the scanner on your Mac. If your Mac recognizes the scanner as a device, then you can use the scan from the Mac using Preview or Image Capture apps (in your Applications folder). You can also use Picasa by going to the import function and finding the scanner and try it from there. If you are having issues getting the HP scanner to recognize the Apple device. Here is the official website for the download from HP. Apple drivers sometimes do the job of getting the scanner to be recognized, but the official drivers might do better.

I cannot scan onto my HP c7280, but I can print to it. It connects via cat5 to switch. I cannot 'locate' the scanner.

check for the scanner drivers in the control panel,if they are there...if not you will have to reinstall the scanner drivers on your computer.use the s/w cd that came with the printer and install it all over again..then try scanning from the windows photo gallery or the MS paint and word. These do not use the twain drivers ,they use the windows scanner drivers....see if it works

Can't scan from HP Photosmart C7280 to my Mac Computer

The best way to scan documents from the scanner to your computer is to use HP Photosmart Essential. If you don`t already have it installed it can be downloaded from the HP site. Once in the program it is very simple to follow. It is basically a point and click operation.

Let me know how you make out and we can do other things if this doesn`t work for you.

Please remember to rate me.
