Question about D-Link DI-604 4-Port Cable/DSL Router (DI-604) Broadband (di-604 (dont quote)) Bridge

D-Link Di-604 bridge?

Basically I wanna set up a wireless bridge from my upstairs router to my living room with my xbox 360, pc, etc. Instead of investing in an expensive bridge I was thinkin of turning my old d-link di-604 into a bridge if it's possible, I have no idea because I lost my manual and can't seem to find any info on the internet. If I can't turn my di-604 into a bridge, what would be the cheapest solution to bridging my living room with a multiport bridge?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Want to connect aDI-604UP wired router to a DIR-615 wireless router to use as a printer port wirelessly

Hello Richard.

For this, you have two types of connection
1. LAN_LAN (ethernet to ethernet) -->wireless router is acting as a switch
2. LAN_WAN (ethernet to internet)-->wireless router is acting as a wireless router

in this case, you need the LAN_LAN connection

Physical connection:
plug an ethernet cable from the ethernet port on the wired router and connect the other end of that cabl to the ethernet port on the wireless router

Configuration:
log-on to the setup page of the wireless router, do this while the wired router is turned off.
-open your internet browser, type 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. Then type the username & password for the router ( default admin as the username, password : ).
Under the setup tab, click manual configuration. Then click network settings, change the router ip address to 192.168.0.5 & disable the DHCP server. save the settings. Just personalize the wireless network.

Hope this helps.

My router d-link DI-604 is constantlya unplugging... and disconnecting from internet

Check you have the latest firmware and also check you haven't set idle time out (it should be 0 = always on)
Also see if there are other routers in the vicinity especially n-routers which will knock it offline so you should change the channels.

You can select your router from that list to get most of the information. You can request another disk free of charge from d-link by contacting customer support.

I cannot find the WAN connection..Where should the blue cord connect...I just placed it in the WAN jack on the hub..

If you want a WAN you need a router, and not a HUB.

If you have a switch, and you want to work with fixed IP addresses, you can do this but it will get involved with using gateways and etc.

The easiest way is to get a router, and set everything up with DHCP.

....dead port?...........

Most likely dead port. Probably one of the metal connectors broke, or something internally will be not allowing it to connect or is fried.

Truth is there could be plenty of problems. Though judging with this, I would say its broken.

D-Link DI-604 Router can be use in Wireless Broadband?

You can use any wireless access point. If you would like to stay with Dlink, you could try the DWL-2100AP. You would just need to plug it in to an open port on your router.
