The "diode"is a thermal fuse device. It is a thermal protection device which has to be replaced once it is blown or open.

SOURCE: HZ-725 honeywell cooltouch heater..Lights on but no heat

The screws are "Tamper-Proof Torx" head, it takes a special T15H tool bit to remove the screws. I just disassembled one of these non-working units and the problem with this unit is a open diode on the heater element board. Not sure the purpose of the diode, but no voltage is going through it. I doubt if parts are available as I see no link for parts on the www.kaz.com website. This unit has been quite hot inside as the plastic mounting peg for the heater element board is melted near the diode area.

Need a thermostat for model no hz-514

How about a free replacement heater?

There has been a recall since 2002 on some Honeywell portable baseboard heaters. Check this link, or call Honeywell ASAP. The ON/OFF switch failed (with a burning plastic odor) on my HZ-514.

http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2002/CPSC-Honeywell-Consumer-Products-Announce-Recall-of-Moveable-Baseboard-Heaters/

"Consumers should stop using these heaters immediately, unplug them, and contact HCP at (800) 290-8495 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. ET Monday through Sunday or log on to the company's website at www.honeywell.com to determine whether their heater is part of the recall."

I hope this is a solution for you, and you are safely warm again in the near future. need-thermostat-model-no-hz-514-gwybjxudtwjfkyidrgix5fxs-4-0.jpg CPSC Honeywell Consumer Products Announce Recall of Moveable Baseboard...

I have a Honeywell Oil filled heater, HZ 680 series. When both switches are turned on, they light up but there is no heat. Also, a funny smell then the switches automatically turn off. Is there anything...

These heaters last about three years, and are throw aways, unless you have some in the ole shed like I do.Checking the switches is the first thing to do,remove them to see if they are burned up on the other side where the connection is.If they are, that could be the smell,or the thermostat is melted down, and smelling, again, throw away,,or save it,and buy a new one,and you will have parts for when it goes out,if the switches are melted down,a compatible switch,if found, can be replaced in the heater, but something made the switches melt down, most likely a heating element in the tanks, non replacable.

Honeywell HZ-709 oil filled radiator heater-all controlls work but no heat produced. Possible reason?? Thanks

There is a bottom element and a top element so the elements could be dead.

More likey, there could be no power coming from the wall - there are switches on the front that need to light up or the thermostat could be set to off.

Goodman furnace

sounds like the fan switch in the furnace is coming on and off. This is common for Goodman. or could be the heat anticipator on the t-stat. While there are several reasons this happens these are the most common.

Klicking is the gears. Klick Klick Klick is the machine skipping gear spots and trying to recover.

Needs new gears.

Could also be the main boards going bad since the board controls the brew drive and the gear system.

Its one of the two. If it is the board, saeco cannot fix it and they do not have replacements. They stopped carrying them about 6 months ago.

Honeywell Compact Quick Heat Ceramic heater with tilt feature - HZ 325

Your prob is their is a thermostatic solinode that is trigger the unit to go off--because it thinks itself as too hot and unsafe to be on--this trigger was defective or damaged by disuse and/or fatigue------give it a shake-- better yet, when cool and unplugged-vacuum or blow out with compressed air-with out disturbing integrity of workmanship on device--if that no worky--time for new one---thermostatic element is dirty, device being of differing Mghz than outlet, if fairly new device--amperage of outlet is too small for device to work properly. If it is a 240 volt or a 120 volt device and your attempiting to use the wrong voltage outlet--STOP USING THE DEVICE

Honeywell Surround HZ2200 / HZ2204 /

A link to an Adobe (Acrobat) Reader format (.pdf) owner's manual for Honeywell® (Mini Tower) SURROUND HEAT™ HEATER FAN Models HZ-2200 (charcoal) and HZ-2204 (white) is here.

Some text from the manual:

SET UP
• The Surround Heat™ Heater is designed to
disperse heat in either a 360° range or in one direction only.
• To select the desired heating mode, slide the Direction Control switch, located
on the top of the heater, to the position of your choice:
– to the right (full circle) for 360° Heating
– to the left (half circle) for forward only heating (One Direction
Heating)

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Select the appropriate heat dispersion mode. (See
Set-Up instructions.)
• With the Power knob in the OFF position, plug the
heater into a polarized 120V outlet.
• Turn the Thermostat control fully clockwise to the
HIGH setting.
• Turn the heater on using the Child Resistant switch
(Power knob). To operate the switch, push down
the two sides of the Power knob while turning it
clockwise to the desired position. The power
light will illuminate. The Child Resistant switch helps
ensure that the heater can not be turned on accidentally.
• When the room reaches a comfortable temperature, slowly turn the Thermostat
control counter-clockwise until the heater goes off. This is the point at which the
Thermostat setting equals the room temperature. At this setting, the Thermostat
will automatically turn the heater on and off to maintain this selected temperature.
• Push down and turn the Power knob to OFF and unplug the heater when you
are finished using it.
