My DVD wont recognize any DVDs. This just started today.

Well, DVD Drives do burn out, and while you probably don't want to hear it, you might have to buy a new one. If you have restarted the computer several times, and haven't installed anything lately, then it may just be dead. But you should try to remember if you have installed anything lately, or done anything to change the laptop. Also, see if it will read CD's, or if it makes noise like the CD/DVD is spinning up/down or the eye is moving back and forth when you insert it. Good Luck

Philips SCB5265 DVD/CDRW drive only reads CDs but not DVDs

Take a can of air and blow it on the laser then try to see if it will read both cd's and dvd's. If it doesn't read one or the other then the dvd-rw would need to be replaced.

Rebooted Windows on HP DV2120us and now Applications arent workin

It sounds like your drivers aren't installed. If you go to www.hp.com and click on click on Support and Drivers, enter in your model info you can download the drivers and install from their website. Drivers are programs that let your computer know about certain hardware. There should be a driver for each piece of hardware, video, sound, etc.
