My walkman, is doing exactly the same thing. I only brought it last week it worked fine for the first charge but just stoped. It also no longer displays the volume level when adjusted.

I upgraded my firmware ( ) which seemed to fix it, although I have a feeling that just resetting the player may do so as well. The button is in the top left at the back of the player, find something small to push into it to reset it.

And of course if you're feeling cautious, back up your media before you do anything. :)

When I plug my Sony NWZ A729 into my car stereo USB port, it cannot recognise the player.

I would check the cable and see if you ave a bad cable if that it does not change the effect then the USB port might not be working on yout car stereo. Check the wiring to see if it can be fix through that. Thank you for using Fixya.
