I have a Whirlpool model: ED25UEXHW00 side by side. The refrigerator side is freezing items. The only solution is to turn it off but after turning it off it's freezing items again in a few days. Turning down refirgerator side has not worked.

Re: Refrigerator side is freezing contents
First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref side has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.
If your settings are right then the cold control switch is the problem

Hi Paul. I understand that food is freezing in your refrigerator. Make sure the vents are not blocked, and that the food items are not in front of the vents. Vacuum around the bottom of the unit to ensure proper air flow. I hope this information is helpful. Sincerely, Melanie, Whirlpool Social media group.
Your model has a WR60X10132 or 10055112 Damper and Fan that regulates temperatures between the freezer and fresh food compartment. The part has been recently updated. Refrigerator air inlet cover/damper kit with fan motor. Damper and fan assembly has been updated to prevent freezing in the refrigerator. (The manufacturer has replaced part number wr60x10132 with this item, part number WR49X10091.) (Manufacturer part number WR49X10091 is RepairClinic item number 1055112.) Open the door and hold the door switch down and try the ice
dispenser. Do you hear any thing. Take all the ice out of the bin and try.
Anything? Take the bin out and try. Anything? The motor is behind the back
cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter. If your
are, probably bad motor. If not dispenser switch.
the first one sounds like it is slowly leaking freon.
the second Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if
there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not
defrosting as it should.
bad defrost timer/control board
bad defrost heater (in freezer)
bad thermo switch in freezer
you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in
the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is
cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above
items. If it still has a problem then it might be the compressor and you should
probably replace the machine.
