Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

Cannot see display

After I hooked my Sansa MP3 player up to my son's XBOX 360 to recharge, I can hardly read the display anymore...I cannot see what song is playing, but I do see a little bit of green lettering, but not enough to make out what it says.

The same thing suddenly happened to mine the other day. When it's plugged into the computer, I can see the display but when I am just using it regularly the display shows for a few seconds but very dimly and then eventually dies out and I am unable to get it back without turning the player off and turning it back on. Even when the display is there, it is so dim, I can't really make out the words. The songs play fine. I tried resetting/reformatting and that doesn't work. It's only a few months old and I can't find the receipt to get it replaced. Thank goodness it was so inexpensive.

The Xbox caused the player to reformat itself (in a bad way) - i would not use that device for charging. You will need to reformat the player on a PC to resolve the issue.

Backlight not working

This can really be a challenge since it's you are no longer able to see the display to change the setting, see if you can shine a fliash light on it so that you can at least read the display to change it. Otherwise see if you can get it to reset to factory default by either taking out the battery or just leaving it on till it is completely drained.

Hope this helps.

Battery doesn't hold charge

It is just like that because it isn't done recharging. After a while it will turn back to what it's real power level is. You should let your MP3 player recharge for over an hour at least to have it fully recharged.
