Question about Microsoft Xbox Console

1 Answer

Voice issue I signed up for a two-month free trial of Xbox live using an original Xbox console, and have just started paying for the service. The problem is that I'm not able to send or receive voice messages, or have the capability of using voice in all my Live enabled games with Voice features available. I've read about similar issues elsewhere but have yet to see a solution or explanation for this. Thanks in advance.

Re: Voice issue

Never had that problem but then i didn't use xbox live, xbox connect and xlink kai were my choices mostly because they were free, the only thing i can suggest is to make sure all the parental controls are turned off and if your using a router make sure all/any ports needed by the xbox live service are forwarded, other than that try a different headset maybe, thats about all i can suggest.

We have played the xbox call of duty for 3 months. game now telling us that profile could not be used . wanted us to renew our gold membership. the console was preowned. do we have to renew or can we...

To play ONLINE Call of Duty then you will need a Gold account. I am assuming that you had bought a 3 month membership to Gold and that is why it has run out?

If the Xbox 360 is used then you still might have a few free trial periods free for 1 month Xbox Live. If I recall previously you could load up to 4 trial accounts. So try just creating a new user profile and see if it doesn't give you one month free for that account? If not then the previous owner has used all the trial accounts.

Make sure you don't use a credit card when signing up to Xbox Live though... it will automatically be set to charge you for renewal when your Gold Account runs out.

If you have to get a Gold account then I recommend you purchase the Live cards at your local store. Some people go onto Ebay and find cheap deals... but I have heard of a few people complain when getting cards that don't work.

How do you get xbox live connections

you need to sign up with xbox live on the xbox console , you need a wireless adapter plugged in and connected to your wireless or a ethernet cable from the xbox to the router. Then just sign up for xbox live , you will receive a 1 month free trial of xbox live gold which will allow you to play people online, after the month trial you either pay for it or you are demoted to xbox live silver

if this info was helpful please vote for me

Xbox live will not connect to network. Would it tell me if my subscription has expired? I bought new HDD in Dec and received a free 3 month subscription.

yes it would tell you if live had expired !
did you buy the xbox new or used ??
if used it is possible it has been banned from live access ??
if it has been banned buying a new harddrive wont get it back on !
if you bought it new & have never had a live account before then take the free month trial befor you use the 3 month u got ! just go thru the process of signing up to 'silver' membership ! what eva it asks (as it does a few times) refuse 'Gold' membership ! and select 'Silver' !! if it hasnt already had the free 1 month trial it will say at the end of signing for try gold for a month to see what ur missing ! :-)
after the month is up...use the 3 month you got !

hope this helps

Hi i am trying to conect to xbox live but it keeps telling me that i cant conect to xbox live

Judging by the picture, I am assuming you have an original xbox. The last time I checked, (a couple months ago) there was still xbox live for the original xbox, but it is a pay service that you need to go online, and setup an account and pay for the service.
Then you will have the info the xbox is asking for when you try to sign in.

Do u have to pay to go online on the xbox 360

Hello there.

On the Xbox 360, you'll have two choices of service level: Xbox Live Silver and Xbox Live Gold. Xbox Live Silver will offer limited Xbox Live functionality at no cost, while the Gold package will be a fully functional pay service.

The Xbox Live Silver service means you can connect your Xbox 360 console to a broadband Internet connection and get functionality right out of the box without having to pay any amount of money.

With Xbox Live Silver you can:
  • Create an online Gamer Profile
  • Access the Xbox Live Marketplace
  • Engage in voice and text messaging
  • Talk to a single friend at a time using voice chat
  • Receive video messages from Gold level members
  • Access massively multiplayer online games (additional fees may apply)
The Xbox Live Gold is similar to the current paid Xbox Live service. The Xbox Live Gold service delivers the complete online connection package. With Xbox Live Gold you have all the features of Silver level, and additionally:

  • Play multiplayer games online
  • Video chat
  • Multiplayer online tournaments
  • Participate in Xbox Live online programming, such as Game with Fame, Play and Win, and Prime Time activities.
Hope this clarifies things for you.

Xbox live

Live goes down randomly everyday now after christmas. You can check the status of Xbox live on They usually will post a report when they are having problems. I guess all the new Xbox owners after christmas are clogging up the Live system and it can't handle everyone. Very aggrevating. They need to get their servers upgraded... fast. Nothing like paying monthly for something and not being able to use it because a ton of other people are using the free one month trial that comes with the system.
