Air Conditioner My air conditioner seems to stop blowing cold air after about 15 minutes of running it, sometimes even sooner if it is really hot outside or if the car hasn't been shut off for very long. Sometimes it will come back after about 20-30 minutes, only to stop blowing cold again within 5 minutes. Help!

Check operation of condenser fan, voltage to compresser clutch if its down you can fit a 30 amp relay in line to the clutch, replace high pressure switch as a precaution these are cheap and easy to relace and you won't loose gas on removal. Regards Eric

Someone will need to find out if the compressor clutch is failing, or if it is loosing power due to a pressure switch or other problem.
A faulty relay or switch could get hot and switch off power to the compressor.

SOURCE: rear air conditioner

could be an electrical problem.

the solenoid for the rear evaporator is not being switch on to let refrigerant flow to the back evaporator .

another problem could be if you do not have a solenoid, then maybe the rear expansion valve is clogged that is why no refrigerant flow to the back.

SOURCE: Nissan Altima no cool air blowing or hot air blowing

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.

Check whether the warm air isn't going in with the cold air .Coolant line that runs into the firewall on the passenger side of the engine which is toward the bottom half of the firewall on the passenger side. If there is warm air going into the vents with the cold air then it blows warm air. You may have to shut it manually because it gets stuck sometime. Check it out.
