My oven fan has recently started to make a very loud rattling noise for around 30 seconds once every few minutes while the oven is turned on in fan mode.

The fan needs be cleaned and lubricated. To do this: Turn off stove/oven. Remove fan cover plate. Remove fan. Clean and lubricate the shaft bearings with 3 way oil. Install fan and cover plate.

My AEG competence oven is making a loud buzzing noise coming from the top fan? The food tonight was either burnt or under cooked? The buzzing is also loud when switched off/cooling down? Any ideas please.

I would suspect that the problem is caused by the external cooling fan located under the outside cooker cabinet housing, which continues to operate as the oven is cooling down if it is built in, you will have to remove it from the oven housing to access the fan

I have a 1960s GE P7 oven that will not heat. How can I test the WB 22x53 switch? Could it be the latch release switch or the oven temp rheostat? The oven makes a humming noise when the dial is turned...

you can test any switch or relay or capacitors on the control board with an ohmmeter in the ohm setting. If low or no resistance, then it is bad. You can get any parts and manual at or

720 EF Fan oven fan making a scrreching noise now

It could be that cooking residue has run down the inside of the fan cover and it is restricting the fan movement. The fan cover is held on by four self tapping screws, one on each corner. Remove the cover and have a look to see if there are any rub marks on the inside. You should be able to remove some of the gunge by soaking the the whole cover in hot soapy water. If that doesn't work, buy the Lakeland brush on oven cleaner - that definitely works - you can use it on all of the inside of the oven. Whilst the cover is off, briefly turn the oven on to see if the fan still makes the same noise. If it does, it looks like the fan bearings are suspect and a new fan may be required. If not you have found the problem with the cover. Page 37 of the Handbook tells you how to replace the circulating fan.

Hi I am Vortash the cooling fan must be controlled by a thermostat , it appears that it has a problem on it and is not shutting off .
They are usually normally open contact switches that are on the top or the side of the oven ,they heat up close the connection and turn the fan on . yours sounds as if it is sticking . Other ovens are controlled by a rheostat a long tubed thermostat that goes to a main control consul on the oven , it controls the fan and responds to what the stat tells it .
It may be this controller is not turning the fan off afterwards , my suggestion is that unless you are electrically trained you get the help of a service engineer to check your oven out .... regards Vortash

GE truetemp double oven fan runs for an hour after I turn it off

Take it out back and shoot it. You are better off cutting your losses now and be done with it. If you have had it for 10 years, I am surprised you haven't burned your house down with it.
Seriously, it would cost a lot to fix it, plus it would frustrate you more and more the longer you put money into it.
