Instructions

    • 1

Jack up the car. Use jack stands if possible, or blocks if not.

    • 2

Remove tires on the front. Remove brakes.

      • 3

Take out the grease cap (the center).

      • 4

Pull out Cotter Pin. Take nut out.

      • 5

Pull Rotor out. Take grease seal off of the back of the rotor. Pull out inner and outer bearings.

      • 6

Using hammer and punch, knock out racings from the back of the center of the rotor (very important to use new races, don't use the old ones). Clean out the center of the rotor with a clean rag.

      • 7

Using the new bearings, replace the old ones, tapping them into place. It doesn't matter which one you install first.

      • 8

Pack with grease when they are in place. Install new seal after the bearings are packed with grease.

      • 9

Re-install the rotors into car; put brakes back on; replace tires; You're ready to go!

Strange humming sound from front wheel drive camry,i being a mechanic , i checked with tcar on jacks and the front heel sfree, and there was no sound , but the moment i drive it ,it starts making this

It could be the hub bearing. Once the car is on the ground, the weight puts more load on the wheels. See if the noise changes when driving while turning the steering wheel

Roaring sound front left wheel, maybe a wheel bearing?

It could be the the wheel bearing...again, as you said. I also would like to know if you had the front end aligned when you changed the wheel bearing. If the tires have excessive wear on the outside or inside tread, you are out of alignment and BOTH wheel bearings need to be changed! It could also be the brakes wearing thin...check it out!

Mazda mpv 2006 repack wheel bearing

There is a little difference between the front and rear. The days of packing wheel bearing is almost over. The front bearing you have to pull the hub and change to bearing. The rear wheel you have to change out the hub bearing and all. The front is a sealed bearing and not serviceable. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

    Front wheel bearing adjustment

I don't think you will be able to adjust the bearing. You may check to make sure that the hub is on tight. Not sure if you change change just the bearing/race OR if you would have to change the entire hub assembly

I just changed the front wheel bearing on my 1996

Are they bad too? If so, yes. If not, no. Look for chopped tires, or transmission bearings.
