Re: Remote will not work
RCA branded universal remotes should at least work the basic functions with the factory default code right out of the package. That code is 000. If that is what you have, and is not working, there may be some problem with the TV itself.

The setup code may be different for each brand of remote, so a code for
the TV will not help. You need to follow the instructions for the
remote you bought to scan through all codes until you find one that
works. Generally this is done by entering the programming mode and
using the ch-up or ch-down buttons to scroll through the codes then use
the power putton to see if it turns your set off. When you find the
right one you press the button to 'store' it.
Your remote instruction booklet should step you through the process. If
it does not have instructions for scanning all codes let us know the
Brand and Model of the Remote you bought and we may be able to find the

It is very common that "universal" remotes will do many functions but not ALL that the original remote did--considering this it may be a good idea to get an original remote---part number on this site is:

had same problem tried all kinds of universal remotes but none were compatible look online and found only logitech Harmony® 550 Advanced Universal Remote is compatible with this model akai pt46dl10 bought one now works fine and was able to reset my lamp timer with it as i just replaced it paid $65 on craigslist for remote good luck
Call the 800 number with the new remote. Sometimes they will have additional codes. Or with the instructions with the new remote you can manually get it to work. You must follow instructions carefully. Look for this section in the instruction booklet
