Check all cords, cables and connections. If you are using a power strip with a surge protector reset that.

HP Pavilion F1503 only displays a split second?

well, its a 2003 LDC 13 years old ,
its bad
the monitor itself of the power pack to it is bad.
you can test it on any PC< or laptop made
if its dead on all , then its dead.
what more needs saying,
older LCD monitors had old CCFL, lamps. that love to fail
newer are LED back lights that last for ever. it seems
so up grade?
seems your back light is dead
ever do the flash light trick
shine it at the dead screen see good data
yes, then the CCFL is DEAD< (or its power supply ,deep inside)
fixed may but would never do a 2003, not now.
lots of used good LED for sale,

17'' samsung synchmaster 794MG model display but screen shrinks from all sides ,After few seconds display becomes very small just about in single inch size .

hit your MONITOR lightly on left side or right side or on top & then observe ..........you will get normal picture or it comes & again it goes....if it is happening like that then following is the situation..........after 4 or 5 yrs in some monitors on main board ( also on CRT circuit board ) at some soldering joints crack develops....then due to loose contact picture becomes small in size or abnormal width, etc ...........when we hit that lightly then those loose contacts joins temporarly & again picture appears for some time............so solution is ......monitor main board & CRT circuit board should be observed carefully & most of the joints should be re-soldered.......only a good service engineer can do that........even after hitting monitor lightly if there is no response then main board has to be checked completely........in your case iam sure it is loose connection problem.........joints should be re - soldered ...100% it works again ................this problem cannot be solved by user unless user has idea about components( resisitors, transisitors, diodes,...etc) , have soldering iron , multimeter & other tools....................so contact good monitor service engineer .............iam from bangalore - 09986222774 - sathyavijayasarathibabu@ymail.com ( computers, laptop, printers, etc )..............

possible that the video card has packed it in and is not responding for duel monitors
you could always try going to control panel , display section and check the settings of both monitors and the drivers for both monitors
to check the problem monitor change the setting from main display from the good unit to make the other monitor the main display
it should change over and the first monitor will then go bad

Philips monitor

Sounds like you have a bad inverter. You will need to open up the monitor to get to the screen to access the inverter board and replace it. If you are handy you can do the job yourself but if not then you will need to take it in to a computer repair shop to have it serviced. Depending on how old this monitor is, the cost of the repair maybe prohibitive.

Loose connection

  1. Update the Firmware on your router.
  2. When you lose internet, look on your modem and make sure that no lights have gone out. (i.e. Cable) If this one goes out, it is your provider.

I have another computer it is an acer Aspire 5520 laptop. The computer is online but the computer will not display the internet page so I can't get online.

try turning on the AV scree n and turn off the AV firewall, then turn off (completely) the unit, then start up again...this time try to re-connect to the internet/w the original disk....
on a desktop...there is a modum/ on which you can see a light on if you have a connection...not familiar/w laptop, but if equivalent thing tells you your "on" but you can't get the site on the screen your AV firewall could be blocking it.
My AVG 8.0 has a screen on which you need to select the proper "configuration" (computer in domain) befor it will act correctly...when I didn't, it displaid similar symtoms....

Monitor doesn't work

I'd try this monitor on a spare computer. It sounds like the video card (motherboard integrated or otherwise)is not putting out any video information or missing sync signals. The monitor must receive these signals or it will go into standy/sleep mode. If the computer has integrated (on motherboard) video, check your bios settings to see if it is properly enabled. If it has a slot video board, then try a different video board. Your present board might be dead. Another possibility is a bad cable connection. check the connectors for bent pins. Assuming the connector is the standard HDB-15, it is easy to bend a pin over.
