New Soleus Air HGW-308R heater flashes E4 error code

I have not been able to find an explaination of error code E4. The remote and the keyboard will not override the flashing e4 and the heater fails to operate. The heater did work when I turned it on the first time. Ran it about 3 minutes just to make sure it was ok. Next time I turned it on the E4 flashing started.

Thanks for the help.

SOURCE: No heat generated by Soleus HGW-308 Mid-Size Heater

If you can hear a "click" when you turn the temperature knob, and the unit is plugged in, chances are the heating has failed.

If you have a multimeter, unplug the unit from the wall.

Put the meter on R x 1000 ohms, and put the meter probes on each of the plug blades. Rotate the temperature control through it's range. You should have just a few ohms when the control has clicked (you really don't care at this point), as you turn the temperature control to a hotter temperature. You should have no ohms when turning the other way (this all assumes you are in a typical room temperature environment.).

If no reading is obtained, either the element has failed, the temperature control has failed, the "tip-over" switch has failed, there is a burned terminal in the wiring, or sometimes a heat fuse fails.

If it's the element or temperature control, it's probably best just to buy a new heater. The other three are identify and replace.

Not sure about E4 , but 4 blinks or flashes usually means the compressor isn't starting properly. It could be a faulty start capacitor or wiring or faulty indoor PCB (Board)

Heat does not come on Coleman furnace

See if your hot surface ignitor is glowing when you first fire up.
This is the most common cause of the unit not working

E4 error being displayed

This error message is because the water tank is full. Just empty it out and put it back in and the AC will start to work again. If that doesn't work then I don't know what the problem is, but I just had the E4 error and did that and the problem was solved.
