My tv sometimes works PERFECT and if you give it a small BANG, it works. I sometimes get a smaller screen with yellow bands on both sides of the picture. ANY idea of whats going on. I LOVE this tv and want to get it done, Id like to try to fix on my own if its a simple fix... thanks...MJ

Something related to the video boards. Check all inputs first, then check ribbon cables to the video board. Be careful of high voltage if you open the cover.

I replaced the pico fuses and the convergence IC's. fuses poped right away code 22 . Further inspection of the board showed the coolant had leaked out of the center projector and fried the board. Not willing to pay $300. Passed it on to someone else

Picture curved horizontally at both ends of a Sony Trinitron TV

Just about any tube TV is a 4:3 picture shape and most current TV is 16:9. so there is a compromise to get them to work together. Unless you are viewing retro TV shows, you should adjust your Digital converter so that you have a black band top and bottom (yes you are giving up screen). The alternate is to keep 16:9 and give up left and right sides of the program. Or properly recycle the TV and buy a LCD screen. Even used, smaller ones can be had for 20 bucks. I bought a 32" for 30.

In case I have this wrong and this is a new screen problem, make sure there are no magnets anywhere your TV. They distort. Have you tried back adjustment screws? Use a mirror or have a friend help. Look especially for pincushion adjustment.

Screen size depends on the broadcast signals aspect ratio, the TV adjusts for that automatically, the picture can have no bands or be banded top and bottom or on both sides.

Mitsubishi ws-55515 intermitent blurry picture

A bad connection somewhere--when it happens if picture is 3d look in menu for convergence and call up the grid of lines--if they are not perfect you have convergence issue which usually requires parts to be replaced.

In this set sometimes the chips will become flaky and convergence will jump in and out.

How do I hook it up to a TV so that we can watch a movie on the TV instead of the small screen

On the side there is a video out socket ( sometimes marked AV out and yellow in color ). You will have to get an interconnecting cable to link it to your TV. The back of the TV will have corresponding yellow/red/white sockets. The yellow is for video and the red/white is for left/right audio. Your player comes with this cable along with the AC adapter . bobhifi_56.jpg

I have a Fisher Compact 5 cd changer Model DAC 197 . Manufactured in 1988. Are the small rubber drive belts available , if not, are there any that are inter changable?

I had the same problem. I took the cover off and tried to eject a tray and saw that the small rubber band was slipping. I simply got a smaller rubber band and replaced it. It works perfect now. It takes longer to unscrew the case than it does to fix the problem.

Faulty power supply

There is no separate power supply in your TV.
It is integrated into Deflection Board.
I would recommend you have real professional diagnose your TV, power supply section is rarely goes bad, it could be convergence or some other issue.

Hitachi rear projection LCD with yellow blobs on screen

I have the same tv and the same problem, but my yellow is a cloud around the outside of the screen. My tv was recently moved, and a repair shop told me that sometimes in a move these tvs light engine takes a shock and causes a yellow "band" on the screen. I am hearing that these light engines are not cheap either. Hope this helps you.
