Question about Kenwood Audio Players & Recorders
All other components work except for the CD player (Kenwood DP-47). I'm connecting to Kenwood receiver KA-76.
The lights come on on the CD player but that's it. It won't play.
try to play a song from original cds.
maybe you brunt it in mp3 file, or its a different format. try to burn your song to cd-r.
if still, try to use nero to burner..
if it wont play your original cds and burnt cds, then the optical lens or the board is broken.
hope I helped you.

SOURCE: my kenwood dp-r99 reads ee
I just took my DP-R99 out of the closet and powered it up in my garage. After a short delay it reads EE. I took it apart and the belt that drives the laser head up to the CD and pressure disk to make it spin is slipping and never raising the head enough. It looks like the belt has stretched over the years. I am now going to look for a replacement belt and the belt that rotates the carriage since it is also stretched. I will let you know for sure when I install new belts. Hope this helps...

i supect all it is, is dirt on the laser , but un plug it leave it like that for a while and then plug it back in i doubt it is confused as what you are describing is a dity laser symptom, donot buy a laser cleaner, but clean the laser wih a coton bud or cue tip with no liquids, it is a small glass eye, just twist bud on top, unplug fist laser can damage vision. pleqase leave feedback
