I have a panasonic CT-27D31 and the remote will not work. I even bought a new one and it must be something with the TV. I have to turn it on and off at the TV and customer support wanted me to punch in a code but with the remote not working I can't.
Here is a way to make sure that your remote is working or not.
get a radio that has am band on it. turn the radio to am band..any band..then aim the remote at it and push any button..if the remote is working, then you will be able to see noise coming from the radio. if not, the remote is not working. open it and check it. check the battaries. then check the emitting doide for lose connection. or try to clean the baord in there with denatured alcohol. good luck

This is a problem with the pincushion and convergence circuits. Are you planning on repairing this yourself? If so, I'll look up the circuit designations and parts. If not, expect a parts cost in the $15 range plus the local labor rate.
Sure, Why not?
It is worth the effort.
If the set is 'dead', it is the easiest to repair.Only 'tampered' sets pose problems.
It could be a simple blown Fuse, or the Power Regulator IC.
This should not cost you more than $100-150 as Technician charges + 15-20$ for spares.
It could also be a defective Horizontal Outut Transistor and short cicuiterd FBT, (tho' it seems remote), but if yes, add another $100.
definitely worth calling a professional techie
