Carriage stalled on hp psc 1200 all in one printer
The power light remains on, the orange lights flash together, print number window displays 'E' . a small window pops up on the screen "The print carriage is stalled". However it is not new so no packaging materials in the way, there is no paper jam, there is no back paper jam, i just refilled the ink, the printer carriage worked fine when i turned it on, but it sounded.. chunky? it was louder when it hit the ends than I assume a printer should be, but this is my first time using it, so im not sure if its just noisy then. It doesnt come to the center when you open the front of the printer, as it should.

SERVICE MODE This printer has a service mode for service-related settings and for performing test prints. The operator panel buttons are used to enter the desired service mode.
Service Mode Operations 1. With the printer powered off, hold down the Resume/Cancel button and press the Power button. 2. While holding down the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button and press the Resume/Cancel button twice in succession. Now release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. 3. Select one of the following service mode functions by pressing the Resume/Cancel button the specified number of times.
Count Indicator Functions • 0 times Green Print head not installed, carriage returns and locks in home position • 1 time Orange Service test print • 2 times Green EEPROM information print • 3 times Orange EEPROM initialization • 4 times Green Waste ink counter setting • 5 times Orange Destination setting • 6 times Green Print head deep cleaning • 7 times Orange LF correction • 14 times Green Left margin correction
Execute the selected function (except for model setting) by pressing the Power button. The printer will switch itself off after performing the function.
Hi, Please perform the steps given below and check.
1. Press the Power button to turn off the product. 2. Wait 15 seconds. 3. Press the Power button to turn the product on again. NOTE: The product might go through a warm-up period of up to two minutes. The product lights might flash and the carriage might move. Wait until the warm-up period is complete before proceeding. 4. Try to print a self-test report. Refer to the steps on how to print a self-test report at the top of this document.

Check Paper light flashes but there isn't a paper related problem
The check paper light may also flash if there are other problems. Verify the following conditions:
Verify that the print cartridge door is closed.
The print carriage may be jammed, follow these steps to correct the problem:
Open the print cartridge access door. If the print carriage can move, it should move to center. If the print carriage stays all the way left, unplug the power cord and then plug it back in. This will reset the unit and may allow the print carriage to move from the left.
Disconnect the power cord from the all-in-one.
Remove both print cartridges.
Move the print carriage left and right slightly to verify that the print carriage will move freely. If the print carriage will not move freely, check for obstructions.
Close the print cartridge access door.
Plug the power cord back in.
After the all-in-one initializes, the print cartridge light will flash. Open the access door and install the print cartridges.
Close the print cartridge access door. If the problem returns, remove the print cartridges and wipe the electrical contacts before reinstalling them.
Try to make a copy. If the all-in-one pulls in paper but cannot make a copy, there may be a problem with the scanner mechanism. Contact HP for assistance.
